Overnight in Ras al Hadd Hotel/Camp.
The tour departs Muscat in the morning towards Ras al Hadd . After a photo stop at the Bamah sinkhole (swimming in the sinkhole lake is possible)
Pass by during visit Wadi Shab
Wadi Shab
This Wadi is a enormous canyon gorge that is lined with palm trees and impressive indications of what the power of the water coming down from the mountains can do in nature. With a 45 minute hike up through the canyon Wadi, we arrive at one of several crystal clear water pools. Tourists can swim on through the warm waters from pool to pool. Eventually we come to the last pool where an opening among the enormous rocks allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall. Inside, the sunlight filters in from the outside, turning the water into a beautiful turquoise blue whilst water showers down one side of the cave from the Wadi beyond.
Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve
The tour continues to Ras al Hadd. In the evening we take you to the Turtle sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz. Here we will go on a guided beautiful walking tour on the beach at night under the stars, where we have a high chance of seeing Oman's great sea turtles stumbling on to the beach to build a nest and lay the eggs. If you are lucky, you can even see baby turtles hatching from some nests.
Overnight in Desert Camp.
Sur
In the morning we will show you the City of Sur with some old fortresses and the famous Arabian Dhow Factory, where you can see traditional wooden Dhows being built.
Wadi Bani Khalid
After Lunch we will drive onwards to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the biggest and most beautiful Wadis in Oman. Here you can swim, sunbath, relax and have a picnic in the beautiful scenic Wadi canyons.
Wahiba Sands
In the late afternoon we continue to our desert camp in the Wahiba Sands desert, where you relax or take part in an adventurous 4x4 drive in the sand dunes. Then we will watch the stunning sunset of the desert on one of the big sand dunes. We finish the day with a Dinner at the camp and a nice romantic time around a campfire.
Overnight in Nizwa Hotel.
Ibra
In the morning we drive to city of Ibra. There we will visit the colorful the local Market (Souq) and the old ancient Village of Ibra.
Nizwa
The old capital city of Oman. We will arrive there in the afternoon, and after the Hotel check-in you have free leisure time for the rest of the day.
Overnight in Jebel Shams Resort.
Nizwa Souq
We start the day early to visit the Nizwa Souq. It is among the largest of its kind in Oman. A wide variety of vendors offer their goods in the streets of the souk from 05:00 am to about 10:00 am each morning. Here you can find fish, meat, vegetables, pottery, jewellery, handicrafts and souvenirs which are sold in authentic old market halls that few places can boast. Especially interesting is the Friday cattle market, when the locals from the nearby Villages come to sell their donkeys, goats, cattle, sheep and chickens in a circus style open market place.
Nizwa Fort Oman
Next to the Souq is Nizwa Fortress. The fort is a museum today and offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains. You can walk around in this impressive fortress and visit its many rooms, passages and towers. The fort is an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century. It was a military stronghold designed to withstand even the strongest of attacks at the time. Even along the corridors, many traps were laid to deter any intruders that might have penetrated the defenses.
Jebel Shams
From Nizwa we drive up to the Jebel Shams Mountain where we spend the last night on our tour. This Mountain is the highest point of Oman with 3000 meter at its peak. After our arrival in Jebel Shams Resort, you have leisure time the rest of the day. You can spend the afternoon walking around the famous Grand Canyon of Oman. There are many different walking paths to choose from (easy short or difficult and long). The Canyon edge offers spectacular views of the Wadis and valleys below.
Wadi Bani Awf
In the morning we drive down the mountain the other side (east) into the Wadi Bani Awf. This mountain road drive is an exciting off road experience and offers fantastic views into dramatic canyons and Wadis, as it winds down several kilo metre before connecting with Wadi Bani Awf. Once we reach the Valley (Wadi Bani Awf),

We were picked up at our hotel in Muscat at 08.00 am by our guide Khalid in a spacious 4x4 car (we were the only guests). We then drove to a sinkhole and further to Wadi Shab. There we did a short 45min hike with Khalid to the first pool and then walked further into the Wadi by ourselves. Although it was quite busy at the wadi, the experience was still great! After that we drove to our first hotek, the turtle beach resort. The resort has a nice beach and the dinner there was great. At around 09:00 pm we visited the turtle sanctuary in Ras al Jinz where we saw one giant mother turtle and two baby turtles. Amazing! The next day we quickly stopped at a dhow factory in Sur and the continued to Wadi Bani Khalid. Again, after a small hike, we went swimming in the Wadi. The Wadi was also a little bit crowded but we still had a great time. In the afternoon we drove to our next hotel which was the oryx dessert resort. We drove with our 4x4 car on a dune next to the resort and watched the dessert sunset which was amazing. The food at the resort was also amazing. Please note that an extensive 4x4 “dune blasting” car ride is not included in the package but can be booked at the resort. However, Khalid was so nice to drive a little bit off road on the way to the resort. Thanks for that! The next day we stopped at various ancient cities and visited several irrigation systems, some of them hundreds of years old. This shows you how the Omani people were able to grow vegetable and fruits in apparently dry regions. On that day we headed towards Nizwa were we arrived in the early afternoon. Since there were no more activities planed on that day, we walked to the city center (4km, Khalid offered to drive us!) and explored the old city of Nizwa ourselves. Dinners not included in Nizwa, so we found ourselves a nice Shawarma place. The next day was a Friday and we headed early for the cattle market in Nizwa. We recommend, that you plan your tour to be in Nizwa on a Friday. The cattle market is really something to see! After visiting the Souq for some shopping and the amazing Nizwa fort we headed for our final stay at the Jabal Shams Resort. The views of the “great canyon of Arabia” on the way and around the resort were amazing. We took many great pictures the cliff of the canyon. Please note that we arrived there in the early afternoon and that there was not much time to do extensive hiking around the canyon. There is a hiking trail near the resort, but you should inform the touring company in advance if you want to do more hiking. Again, the views on Jabal Shams and the canyon were amazing. After the breakfast and two short stops we drove back to Muskat where we arrived in the early afternoon. All in all, we had a great tour! The hotels and the resorts were all nice and so was the food. However, it was our guide Khalid who made the tour especially great! Firstly, he spoke very good English, he was very kind and polite, and he had great knowledge on the sights we visited and the history of Oman. We had many great conversations. Secondly, he is a very calm and safe and driver, which is also a good thing. We would definitely recommend this tour, since you see many things in a short period of time, and you don’t have worry about any organizing or booking. A local guide and be driven around also adds safety and comfort. I also think that the price is fair. In a nutshell: Great tour and great guide – would do it again!

We sincerely thank Oman Day Tours for organizing the tour around the country. The excellent work of all 3 guides - drivers, comfortable cars, well-planned excursions left a very good impression of Oman, its tourist attractions, nature and hospitable people. I especially want to thank the guide Nasser. Our group of 13 persons from Lithuania enjoyed his work, knowledge and communication.

We visited Oman mid of December 2018 and booked our 5 day tour with Oman Day Tours via Internet from home. The communication was very quick, efficient and friendly all the time. Also payments were handled absolutely correct and we no problems. Everything was organized perfectly and our guide Abdul Rahman was absolutely the best we could get. We felt very safe and secure all the time. He is a cautious driver and has lot’s of knowledge of the country, his history and famous sites. We felt like travelling with a good friend all the time. We can for sure recommend them and we are looking forward to come back one day.
