  I had the best experience with west bay divers. I don’t have a ton of experience (30ish dives), but this is the best dive shop I’ve used so far. The scheduling was typical for what I’ve experienced in the past, emails and a vague idea of what I’ll be getting up to, with a more detailed plan that comes together once I’m at the dive shop and can talk in person. Kiana was a fantastic dive buddy and SO helpful throughout my trip. I never had to touch my gear and they took such great care of everyone on the boat. I wouldn’t recommend the shark dive at the other dive shop, but other than that everything I did was amazing! Highly recommend the night dives. Thanks to Kiana for making it such an amazing trip. I can’t wait to go back!

  I cant say enough good things about West Bay divers!!!!!. We also have to give a shout out for our dive master Abner, who was an incredible!!! . We felt safe, which is obviously the highest concern, but beyond that he was enthusiastic and warm, friendly at all times, and incredibly excited to share all of the natural beauty of Roatan. We saw octopus, turtles, hundreds of different fish, rays, you name it! The whole time Abner laid out our dive plan and made sure that we all understood. He gave special attention to all of us as needed. Abner is the absolute best! The staff was friendly and helpful. And the prices were very reasonable from what we have seen. All of the equipment is top-notch cressi equipment that you can watch the staff maintaining before, and after every dive meticulously. The place was clean and modern, and the boats absolutely beautiful and clearly also well maintained. It was just a short boat ride from the dock to all the dive spots. We did five dives in our time here and never went to the same place twice. If you’re the kind that can get seasick (me!!!), this is a great place to go, as there aren’t long choppy dive rides to get to where you’re going. The weather was beautiful, the water is calm, and the current pretty much nonexistent. High praise to West Bay divers and again to our incredible dive master Abner!

  West Bay Divers absolutely exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the operation was smooth, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The staff runs a tight ship without ever making it feel rushed or impersonal. Our dive master, Takeshi, was outstanding—calm, highly skilled, and incredibly attentive. His briefings were clear and thorough, his underwater awareness was exceptional, and he has a great way of making every diver feel confident and relaxed. He knew exactly where to find the marine life and positioned the group perfectly so everyone got great views without feeling crowded. You could tell immediately that safety, enjoyment, and respect for the reef were his top priorities. The dives themselves were spectacular—healthy reefs, great visibility, and an amazing variety of sea life. The boats were well-maintained, the gear was in excellent condition, and everything ran on schedule without feeling rigid. If you’re diving in Roatán, West Bay Divers is a no-brainer. Professional, friendly, and world-class diving—made even better by an exceptional dive master. We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to dive with them again.

  This is my 9th trip to Roatan and with West Bay Divers! I trained with this shop in 2023 and keep coming back because of Joel and the amazing captains and staff. Having dived in different countries now, I realize how top notch and concierge this shop is. Joel goes out of his way to show us new places and new creatures under the water. I highly recommend this shop to all levels of divers.

  This was my second visit to Roatan, and without hesitation, I booked all my dives with West Bay Divers, and specifically with Joel, who has become more than just a dive guide; he’s a friend. From start to finish, the entire team makes everything effortless! Safety is their top priority, and it shows in every detail. The gear is in excellent condition, and you can use it anytime to snorkel right off the shore. Joel goes above and beyond every single time. Not only is he an incredible dive master with a deep knowledge of the reefs and marine life, but he also captures stunning underwater photos and videos during your dives and shares them with you afterward. It’s such a fantastic way to remember the dives. The entire staff is warm, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. I can’t recommend West Bay Divers enough. Joel, thank you for making every dive unforgettable. I’ll absolutely be back for more fun!

• Night and daytime dives

  We had an amazing time diving with West Bay Divers and in particular, our guide Callum. This was truly a full service operation- we dived multiple days and the our gear was set up for us each dive on the boat everyday without needing to carry anything. We were even able to leave our masks and fins. Callum even applied antifog to our masks in between dives. We did a night dive which was spectacular with the bioluminescence. Callum had a book to show us the anticipated species ahead of time and was very proficient w fish identification and a kind and safety oriented individual. The equipment was top notch w integrated BCDs and very new wetsuits w front zips. 10/10 would definitely come again.

  This was some of the best diving I have done in a long while. It had been a few years since I had dove last, the refresher was quick, easy, and informative. It rained a couple days there, but diving was still immaculate. Staff, especially Abner, was very friendly and accommodating. Barney was great at communicating and coordinating when weather was iffy and if there would be diving that day. The dive sites were beautiful and will forever be a wonderful memory. Mary's place was a one of a kind location! The shop is right next to the beach and easily accessible by walking on the beach or a short drive if staying in West Bay. Renting equipment was a breeze and made the experience very care-free. If you intend on diving for multiple days, they write your name on a locker that you can lock belongings in and have your gear below. I highly recommend this dive shop. The staff, dives, and experience is surely one to remember for many many years. Abner was the best dive instructor; he had such a keen eye for locating animals like sea horses and nudibranchs! We saw like 5 seahorses in one dive! Abner also found the tiniest brittle stars, banded coral shrimp, hawksbill turtle, moray eels, channel clinging crab, neck crab, yellowline arrow crab, caribbean spiny lobsters, long spine urchins, spotted drums, silversides, cowfish, many trumpet fish, many different colored parrot fish, porcupine fish, needle fish, large grey angelfish and even a scorpion fish! There are so many dive locations around the island, but the ease of just walking from the shop, onto the beach, into one of their boats and a short 2-10 minute boat ride to some of the clearest water and best reefs, is tough to beat. If diving on the south side of the island, it can be about a 30 minute van ride but same thing when on the boat, the dive locations are short boat trips.   Seahorses and Lionfish🤘 West Bay Divers continue to provide a phenomenal experience. One on one dive with Mekayla with the hopes of dominating some lionfish!!! We both got the chance to kill some and then we got to see Jerry the seahorse calling our name to come say HI😍 Perfect dive day😎 Mekayla and the whole staff provide such hospitality and safety that i'll never go anywhere else💙 Everything from the details and overview of each dive to the amount of awareness of the reef and its abundance of sea life. This is dive 50 with them and i can't wait for the 50🌴 Thx Mekayla and Barny😘

  We had an amazing week with West Bay Divers! The service was amazing from everyone, and especially from our Dive Master Takeshi. We were well taken care of from start to finish. Beyond diving, the three of us (my wife and daughter) did a night dive, a shark dive, and took the PADI Enriched Air course as we dove. The diving was amazing, and the bioluminescence we saw on the night dive was bucket list material.   Takechi our dive guide for a five day scuba experience was the best five day trip we have taken… the company was first class. The boats were the best there and all the employees did the very best to insure we were made to feel at home. A place and company we will definitely return to.
