Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to the Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Tarangire is one of Africa’s little-known gems and should be on the itinerary of all lovers of wilderness and solitude. Its name originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park and is the only source of water during the dry season. Tarangire’s landscape is incredibly diverse with a mix that is not found anywhere else on the northern safari circuit. It is dotted with ancient baobab trees, which the Maasai people believe are the first tree in the creation and large termite mounds. The dry season sees the harsh sun suck the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth a dusty red while the wet season brings dense bush and luscious high grasses. Famous for its large elephant population, it is also home to zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, waterbuck, baboons, dwarf mongoose, impala, buffalo, antelope, and fringe-eared oryx. Predators include lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Today you will drive to the Serengeti National Park which is one of Africa’s premier game parks. Driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti National Park you will begin to experience the vastness of this territory and marvel at the multitude of animal and birdlife while cruising through this acacia spotted savannah. You will visit a Maasai Village in the Ngorongoro Highlands (optional) where you will meet the Elders, Warriors, women, and children and learn about the culture, beliefs, and traditions of Tanzania’s last nomadic tribe. The Serengeti is Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Serengeti is a year-round destination and each season has its special highlight with the most famous being the annual wildebeest migration, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You will game drive en route before arriving at the Serengeti in time for a half-day game drive.

Today you will be rewarded with a full-day game drive in the stunning Ngorongoro Crater which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979 and is one of the only places on earth where mankind and wild animals co-exist in harmony. The Ngorongoro Crater is famous for Africa’s best game viewing as there is an ever-present abundance of wildlife due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor. Upon arrival at the Crater’s rim, you will descend 610 meters into the Crater where your safari truly begins. Spot the endangered black rhino as well as wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle and of course, giant tusked elephants. The Crater also has the largest known population of lions and you will also find leopards and cheetahs as well as scavengers such as spotted hyenas, jackals, and rare wild dogs. In the late afternoon, you will return to Arusha for your final evening.

5.00Safari Benson Safari Benson Safari Company helped us create the trip of a lifetime. Our safari and beach vacation in Zanzibar was a year in the making, and throughout the entire planning process Benson and his team were endlessly patient, responsive, and reassuring. Any question, concern, or comment we had, they were right there to guide us and make sure every detail was perfect. Our driver and guide, Francis, picked us up from the airport right on time and stayed with us for the entire journey. He shared language and history lessons along the way, and his knowledge of the wildlife was incredible. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five and countless other animals…far too many to list! When my husband became ill during the trip, Francis went above and beyond. He made sure my husband saw a doctor and got the medication he needed so we could continue enjoying our safari. His care, professionalism, and experience were truly exceptional. We could not have done this trip without Francis, and we are so grateful to Benson Safari Company for making our dream vacation come true. If you are planning a safari, you must book through Benson and definitely request Francis. His years of knowledge, skill in navigating the parks, and genuine willingness to help made all the difference. Highly, highly recommended!

5.00My husband and I had the most amazing experience in Tanzania. Benson and his team took care of all the details. We just had to show up, relax, and enjoy. We are very particular about our accommodations and every location exceeded our expectations. Our driver, Francis, made the experience "next level". He was knowledgeable with identifying the animals, providing historical context of the regions and culture. He also had a keen eye for spotting animals. Most importantly, he was very patient and expertly navigated the rugged terrain in a safe way. In addition to the safari, Benson organized our stay in Zanzibar. Again, he connected us with excellent drivers and tour guides who made our beach stay enjoyable. We ran into a small challenge at the hotel in Zanzibar and we called Benson. He took care of it and it was a huge relief for us. We highly recommend Benson Safaris.

5.00We had already second experience with BENSON SAFARIS and again great. All was perfectly organized and program was one big experience. Our guide Liberatus was friendly, experienced and taking care about us each day. We saw all big animals, big 5 and many othres. Accomondations were fantastic experience and very good foood. I RECOMMED BENSON TO ALL TRAVELLERS. Marek

5.00My wife and I spent six days visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. All were fabulous and gave us an amazing view of all that Africa has to offer in terms of the animals, the expansiveness of the plains and the ability to get so close to the animals in their wild habitat. Our guide was amazing and worked very hard to show us "the big five" as well as the diversity of the animals, plants and other aspects of the ecosystem.

5.00We went on a great safari with children. Incredible experience with an incredible number of animals in the Serengeti. Fantastic sccommodation, Kati Kati and Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. Zablon was our driver and guide, who was always in a good mood and very friendly. Drove for hours, but was still relaxed and showed us all the animals. He was incredibly loving with our children . This tour operator offers everything from picking us up from the airport to the end. We had booked an extra night in Arusha without prior arrangement. It was no problem at all that we were picked up the next day and taken to the airport even though the tour had ended the day before. Always happy to come back, thank you Benson, thank you Zablon! Great work!

5.00What a wonderful holiday we had in Tanzania. Benson Safaris was very important in this. We deliberately booked a flight directly with Kenya Airways to ensure that the money stays in Africa instead of with all kinds of tour operators who also want to make some money. The same thought went into booking our trip. After requesting quotes from various providers, Benson Safaris was the best choice for us. Value for your money! Great reviews and a good feeling right away! Upon arrival, our wonderful driver and guide Amini was ready at Kilimajaro Airport. We enjoyed him so much. A cheerful, sweet and knowledgeable winner! What a wonderful week we had together. As a 60 year old, I traveled with 2 boys aged 18 and 19. The boys enjoyed Africa and all the impressions! Benson had neatly booked and arranged all hotels and lodges for us. Do not doubt! Benson is really good. Upon arrival at our hotel in Arusha, Benson even came to meet us in person. We would especially like to thank our guide and driver Amini. He made our trip unforgettable.

5.00It was a dream trip! Benson Safaris had everything well organized and our guide Michael was great and very confident when driving. After a very short time you might think that he belongs to our tour group. I was the 4. Sometimes in Africa (2x South Africa, 1x Namibia), but Tanzania was the best tour. I would go back to Tanzania anytime.

5.00It was an incredible experience. Judith was very helpful, always available to solve all of our doubts and organizing the trip personalized to us. They adapted the tour to our requests and planned it very nicely, we stayed in super nice camps in Serengeti NP and also in Ngorongoro and Manyara lake. We loved the organization and the experience a lot. The best of the trip was our guide Peter who made from our safari an incredible experience sharing all his knowledge about wildlife and always looking for the next “surprise”. He is super chill, experienced, easy going and funny guy!! Thanks Peter :) and thanks Benson safari for making this trip and unforgottable experience! We highly recommend it ! Asante sana :)
