  A wonderful time - in the middle of the magical parks with countless animals. The trip was great organized and our guide Anold an excellent companion. Friendly and well informed he always took us to the exposed photo spots and was part of an unforgettable time. The nights we spent in great accommodation, were warmly received and well looked after.

• A Perfect Honeymoon

  We did extensive research on which provider would be the best option for our honeymoon in Tanzania. We are so glad we put in the effort and chose Altezza Travel. Every person we interacted with was a true ambassadors of the brand — from Olesia who helped us customize and plan our epic experience, to the guides we met while on safari, as well the team who checked in regularly with us while we navigated our way through Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongro, and the Serengeti. But our honeymoon wouldn’t be nearly as meaningful or memorable if it wasn’t for the incredible efforts of our guide, driver, hotel liaison and now friend, Cathbert. From the very beginning, Cathbert made a point to ensure we had the most amazing experience possible through his interactions with hotels and other points of contact. Cathbert treated us like family and we are deeply grateful for this as we explored a new country together as newlyweds. We’ve been very fortunate to travel the world and Cathbert is/was the best guide we’ve ever had in any country or on any tour or excursion we’ve ever been on. Cathbert treated the vehicle we were in like a 5-star hotel. We watched other tour guides speed past us in their vehicles and were grateful to be paired with someone who allowed us to take in the beauty of Tanzania at a reasonable and digestible pace. Cathbert’s expertise was plainly evident through his answers to the myriad of questions we had throughout our week together. He made sure my wife was comfortable and communicate with us regularly around what we wanted to see and experience, adjusting our schedule to ensure we saw everything and everything that mattered to us. Our only “complaint” is that Cathbert would not allow us to help him in any way. He would frequently say our only job was to have a great time, to relax, and to eat the wonderful food provided on our private luxury safari. We are deeply grateful to the whole team, but Cathbert is and was the reason we had an unforgettable honeymoon and we will remember him fondly for the rest of our lives. • A Magical Stay in Tanzania

  Going to Tanzania was the adventure of a lifetime and Altezza made everything possible. We visited Tarangire national park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti national park before flying to Zanzibar to visit Stone town and relax by the beach. Our tour coordinator, Nadia, was wonderful. She was incredibly capable and made booking everything, the accommodation on safari, the flights to Zanzibar, and the resort, effortless. Our safari guide, Khalid, was sensational. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all of the wildlife, big and small, and he is a magician at picking the right spot for the best view! He was also super friendly and relaxed and tailored the itinerary and speed of each day to what we were most interested in trying to see. This guy was absolutely, without a doubt, the star of the trip. If we were ever lucky enough to return to Tanzania I would not hesitate to book with Altezza a second time.

  I was impressed by Altezza as soon as I landed in Tanzania. Lots of online follow up and support. An initial misunderstanding was rapidly resolved, with a replacement driver being found within minutes, and all of their hotel and lodge recommendations were excellent as well (reviewed separately). However, I knew they were the best when I got in their Land Cruiser at the start of the Safari. This is because, while from the outside they are all identical, Altezza vehicles are different inside. They are the sole company which has only 4 seats, while all the others have 6 seats (and much less leg room for this reason). This made a giant difference to our experience, as we were often in the Land Cruiser for 8 hours or more on various safari expeditions. Being able to stretch, lean the seat back, and have our bags transported, made a huge difference. Yes, it makes the transportation a bit more expensive, but absolutely worth every penny. I looked at multiple other vehicles while traveling, and none of them had only 4 seats. Kudos to Altezza. The second reason I rapidly became aware of how excellent they are is when we met Daniel, our guide/driver. Firstly, not only was his English outstanding, and secondly his knowledge was exceptional (he had a degree in wildlife management), but on top of this he is also an outstanding wildlife photographer who has published a book of photos. He was with us every step of our 6-day safari and enhanced it in every way possible. We witnessed unbelievable interactions with many lions (and cubs), cheetahs (and cubs), and leopards (and cubs) as well as with large numbers of other animals (elephants, zebras, etc, etc). He also has sharing with us the photos he took with us (far superior to ours), which has really elevated our memories of this trip and provided photographs that we can share with others (one example of his photos - the two cheetahs - is attached). In conclusion, there are multiple reasons why Altezza is the best company to go on Safari with, but I suggest that if you are going for 4- or 5-days, or more, you also try and ask for Daniel specifically for an even more amazing experience.

  My husband and I dreamed of going on a safari in Africa. We chose Tanzania. We found the Alteza agency on the recommendation of bloggers. Then all our problems and questions were solved almost clearly and quickly by our manager Anna. The trip through the parks itself took place in the comfort of a reliable jeep with everything you need. Our guide Catbert knew everything about the animals and was an excellent guide in the parks. He got animals for us in the most deserted places. The best companion for a park safari! A special pleasure is picnics during the day in the parks served by the agency.   Altezza arranged an amazing safari adventure for us. We did a day each in Tarangire and Ngorongoro, and then 4 days in Serengeti. We stayed at amazing places with amazing food. So safe and so well cared for. Everything Altezza does is exceptional, and they partner with exceptional companies. On the front and backend, we stayed at Gran Melia in Arusha. What an incredible place! And best of all, our safari guide, Joseph, was all we could have hoped. He was so knowledgeable about animals and birds and extremely willing to adapt to our goals and preferences.

  My husband and I had always dreamed of going on a luxury safari in Tanzania. But once we started reaching out to tour operators, we were overwhelmed. Many sent short, generic emails, and it felt difficult to make changes or ask questions. Then I got an email from Olesia at Altezza. Her message included a link to a beautifully laid out itinerary that showcased each day’s activities and gave detailed descriptions of the stunning lodges we would be staying at. I was immediately impressed. I responded with a few must haves, and Olesia returned with an updated itinerary that was exactly what I envisioned, plus her own thoughtful recommendations, which ended up being some of the best parts of our trip. She even included a hot air balloon safari and coordinated our bush flight home. Once we finalized the itinerary, we received a personalized trip link where we could submit dietary restrictions, travel information, and even pre order snacks and alcohol for our safari vehicle. Everything felt so organized and elevated. When we landed at JRO Airport, a member of the Altezza team was waiting to greet us and escort us to our first hotel in Arusha. They stayed with us until we were checked in, a small touch that made a big impression. The hotel was gorgeous and the food was fantastic. The next morning, we met Noel, our safari driver. He was waiting for us in the lobby, helped with our bags, and made the drive to Tarangire National Park fly by with his friendly conversation and insights. Let me just say the safari car exceeded expectations. It was spotless, had a cooler stocked with drinks, Altezza branded water bottles, snack holders, drink holders, wifi, and charging outlets. It felt luxurious and well thought out. Noel took the time to snap some great photos of us at the park entrance before we headed out for our first game drive. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and terrain, asking us what we hoped to see and delivering in every way. By our second day, we had already seen the big five. One unforgettable moment was in Ngorongoro Crater. Noel spotted what looked like a boulder in the distance and said, “That’s your rhino.” He encouraged us to wait a few more minutes, and sure enough, it got up and started walking around. It was surreal. Another detail I appreciated was that Noel was always professionally dressed in Altezza’s uniform, unlike many other guides we saw. It gave the whole experience a more polished feel. Every evening, he would check in to plan our next day, and we always took his advice. Then something unexpected happened. While we were deep in the Serengeti, we had a medical issue that required immediate attention. Altezza stepped in right away, staying in close contact, coordinating next steps, and showing true care and urgency. When it seemed like one hotel might have what we needed, Noel drove three hours one way at 11 pm to get us there. The next day, we needed a medication that was not available anywhere nearby, and we seriously thought we might have to fly home. But Altezza worked tirelessly all night, exploring every backup plan including flying us out and back in the same day. In the end, they pulled off what seemed impossible. The medication was flown in and delivered directly to our next lodge. Thanks to Altezza, our trip was saved. I cannot overstate how grateful we are for their responsiveness, dedication, and compassion. And Noel? He is a true hero in our book. We ended the trip with some of the most magical days of our lives in the Serengeti, and we owe that to Altezza. If you are planning a safari in Tanzania, choose Altezza. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

  Following our wonderful Kili climb, we added a seven day private Safari with Altezza through Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Parks. Absolutely fantastic. Our guide Daniel was everything we could have wanted: knowledgeable, dedicated and tireless. I know his enthusiasm for all things Africa was just as intense on this trip as it was on his first Safari with his family decade’s ago. He had an insight and intuition that saw us spotting the big five, the little five, the ugly five and most things in-between. We stayed five star and loved every moment. The accommodation was a delight and as t was low-season, our pockets loved it too! Our African holiday was everything we wanted and more. Everything on Altezza’s website was helpful and true. • Seven amazing days on Safari on the Serengeti / Tarangire / Ngorongoro

  My wife and I went on a seven day safari in Tanzania (Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Serengeti) in February 2025. It was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. Sophia who was our coordinator was very responsive and accommodating of my particular requests (vegan or plant-based diet, avoiding plastic such as drinks containers). We were escorted every step of the way. Our guide/driver (Silas) was amazing - knowledgeable, and always letting us have input at all stages. The accommodation was fantastic and every place was ‘eco’ or green. The Gran Melia hotel (Arusha) was luxurious and the breakfast/supper buffets out of this world. The two lodges and two tent camps were fabulous and the staff at every location fell over backwards to be welcoming and accommodating (at every place we stayed the staff were better than we have ever encountered while travelling in North America, the UK, or Europe). The Toyota jeeps are great (but be prepared for many hours on bumpy roads). In terms of packing, a bandana or equivalent helps protect against dust. Open and closed shoes are a good idea. Temperature is all over the place so shorts/long pants as well as a light sweater are a good idea. Wifi was free and available everywhere we stayed. We were lucky as there was no rain. Given the amount of dust on the savannah, I don’t think it would be a good idea to do a safari during the rainy season as the mud would be awful. I give Altezza (and Tanzania) a 10 out of 10 - would highly recommend it to anyone.
