This 7-day overland Tibet tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu follows the Sino-Nepal highway, which offer you amazing views of the Himalaya and the picturesque Tibetan countryside. The visit to the old cities: Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse, will give you a complete impression of Tibet's religion, cultural treasures, and dreamlike landscape.
The highlighted Tibet trip to Everest Base Camp en route will be a life-time memory to overcome yourself and get higher to the top of the world.
Notes: Please book this tour 20 days in advance, letting us have enough time to apply for your Tibet Travel Permit and then send it to you.

Book at least 12 working days in advance so tour operator may attain your Tibet Permit. Tibet Permit will be delivered to customers' delivery address / hotel address in one city of China. Please note your tour operator will contact you after the booking is confirmed.
Travelers are required to provide photocopy of passports and China L visas at least 20 days prior to travel date.
Please Note: Customers' airport pick-up and drop-off in Lhasa needs to be arranged by the tour supplier. If customers fly to Lhasa from Kathmandu, please do not apply for China L Visa in advance. Customers need to apply for their Tibet Group Visa from China Embassy in Kathmandu via travel agency. Before that, they need to ask for an invitation letter from the tour supplier. If customers fly or take a train to Lhasa from one city of China, they need to apply for their China L Visa from the China Embassy in their country.
A valid passport and China L Visa used to apply for Tibet Permit are required during the travelling period.
Hotels are based on double occupancy (twin-bedded rooms) by default. If you prefer a single room or if room sharing isn’t possible, a single room supplement is required

Lhasa
Upon arrival, our Tibetan guide will greet you at the airport or train station. You'll then be transferred to your hotel in downtown Lhasa. Along the way, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of Yarlung Tsangpo River, Lhasa River, and the typical Tibetan villages. After arriving at the hotel, take some time to rest and acclimate to the high altitude. It's helpful to take it easy for the first few days and remember to stay hydrated by drinking water. Please note that there will be no sightseeing scheduled for today.

Potala Palace
Today's tour will first bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
Jokhang Temple
Then after lunch, tourists head to Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple.
Barkhor Street
Around the temple is Barkhor street, where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, and explore the old market. Besides, We can taste Tibetan tea with locals in tea house; The welcome dinner will also be arranged accordingly.

Sera Monastery
In the Afternoon, Tourists will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet. The hot attraction is the Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon. In addition, you can tour the Tibetan religious scripture printing house; inside the monastery, you can see three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha.
Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si)
In the morning, you are going to visit Drepung Monastery, Located 25 kilometers southwest of Lhasa downtown, it is a well-protected ancient Tibetan village that surrounded by valleys. After arriving, you will visit the Nyimatang Monastery (built in the 11th century), take a light walk in the village, and see what rural life in Lhasa is like. You will also visit a local Tibetan family and enjoy the lunch offered by the family. Now, we will not visit Drepung Monastery and visit Dadong Village instead.
Lhasa (3650m) to Shigatse(3900m) via Gyantse

Yamdrok Yumtso Lake
In the morning, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse .On the way, drive over the Gampala pass (4790 m), and you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m) .The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and in the distance you can have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, (7191m) the highest mountain near Lhasa .
Karo La Glacier
Later, we will pass and enjoy the Karola Glacier on the roadside; At Manak Dam Lake, you can hang pray flag at Simila Mountain Pass; Then, we will arrive in Gyantse, historically Tibet's third largest city (after Lhasa and Shigatse).
Shigatse(3900m) to EBC (5200m) via Tingri

Tashilunpo Monastery
In the morning, we will visit the home of Panchan Lama - Tashilunpo Monastery. Then, we’ll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien’s travel permit, and then drive to Lhatse, it is a small town where you can have lunch.
Mount Everest Base Camp
After that, we will pass Tsola Pass(4600M), and Gyatsola Pass(5248M). Shortly after we enter Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, tourists can enjoy the panorama of Himalaya at Gawula Pass(5198m).Then we drive along the New zigzag road to Everest Base Camp(5200m). You can get closer to gazt at the Mt. Everest peak. The sunset of golden Everest peak if time and weather permits at the lodging area.

Rongbuk Monastery
In the morning, you can appreciate the sunrise of Everest Peak if weather permits at the lodging area and then visit the Rongbuk Monstery - the unique highest monastery with nuns and monks living together. Later, we can visit the Everest Base Camp and take pictures of Mt. Everest at the closes distance in EBC. After that, we can drive from EBC to Kyirong border. On the way, tourists can enjoy breathtakign vista of Mt. Shishapangma and the Pekutso Lake. After passing the Ghungtang Lhamo(5236M), we will arrive in Kyirong in late afternoon.

On the way from EBC to Kyirong border, tourists can enjoy breathtakign vista of Mt. Shishapangma and the Pekutso Lake. After passing the Ghungtang Lhamo(5236M), we will arrive in Kyirong in late afternoon.
Gyirong County
When down to Gyirong County from above 5000m, you will see the forest and waterfall scenery which is differenct from the snow land

5.00This tour moves at a fast pace, which means you’re able to see and experience a lot in a relatively short amount of time. That’s definitely a highlight, though at times it did feel a little rushed, and we would have loved a few more opportunities to pause and really take everything in. The Tibetan landscape is truly beautiful, and the encounters we had with locals along the way offered a glimpse into how warm, resilient, and welcoming Tibetans are. They have an authentic and very special culture. Our guide, Tintin, was wonderful - friendly, helpful, and incredibly efficient at getting us through the various checkpoints smoothly, which made the journey much easier. When we reached Lhasa, we swapped guides, and Purbhu was very informative and engaging, adding even more depth to the experience. There is a strong focus on temples on this tour, which are each historic fascinating. That said, it would have been great to also hear more about the surrounding landscapes, as well as perhaps a little bit more of Tibetan customs and everyday life, to give a more rounded experience. Would recommend doing some of your own research too! I found myself wishing we could have stopped at some of the 11th-century Tibetan kingdom ruins we passed along the way, they looked so intriguing. Overall, a memorable and enriching trip, with just a few areas that could make it even more special. Finally, I would recommend requesting Tibetan-owned accommodation in the Lhasa (as this is not the default) staying in the old town might offer a more authentic experience of the city. We will not forgot this beautiful country and it’s beautiful people! Tashi Delek!

5.00We booked through Tibet Vista and were very impressed with the communication and ease of booking pre tour. This included help with the booking of trains and transfers. The tour itself was excellent, above our expectations due to the fantastic guide that we had, Tintin. Tintin was super informative, spoke great English, and clearly had a passion for his job. He was helpful and considerate throughout the tour. The driver and bus were great, meeting all safety expectations. On the tour we also took part in a cultural experience with Master Wangchuk, this was well organised and it gave us an insight into local craft and culture. Highly recommend this tour to others.

5.00I traveled with the agency from Kathmandu to Lhasa on a fantastically organized trip. We had wonderful weather, but most importantly, we had a great group, a wonderful guide, Jenny, and an excellent driver who took care of us the entire time. We also had good drivers and a tour guide on the Nepalese side – I highly recommend it – the program was interesting, engaging, and the hotels were good.

5.00From beginning to end, the Tibet Vista tour exceeded our expectations. They were easily visible when they picked us up at the train station. On the day we arrived and were taken to the hotel by the motorcyclist Paljor, who was also Mia, the person we contacted to book the trip, they gave us a nice gift: a birthday cake, as it was one of our birthdays that day. The following days we were with the tour guide Dechen and the driver Sangyal, everything was excellent: punctuality, friendliness, information, and support. Dechen, with her great knowledge and experience, patience, and care for this small group, is incredibly grateful. And it was evident how she and the driver, who was professional and friendly, worked together as a great team.

5.00It was an incredible experience! The Tibet Vista staff was very kind and helpful throughout the trip. A special thanks to our guide and driver - both were excellent. Our Dechen guide was very experienced and attentive, and our Sangyal driver was skillful and made us feel safe during the trip. I recommend Tibet Vista! I'm grateful for everything.

5.00Incredible. Our guide Ga Rong was absolutely fantastic; extremely knowledgeable and had some amazing stories to share. All of our hotels were very clean, comfortable and in good locations. The small bus we were in was very new and comfortable as well, with huge windows so everyone got an excellent view of the stunning mountains that were constantly visible while driving. We saw so many unique and wonderful things in Tibet, and the company was very helpful and flexible; Sara, who assisted us with our booking, gave us tons of detail on request, and helped adjust some of the itinerary for us. We enquired about taking a day off from temples/monasteries and spending more time in nature, and she organised for us to go to Namtso Lake which was an amazing experience. We came from a coastal city (no elevation), and Sara was able to organise an early arrival (2 days extra) for us so we had time to acclimatise to the altitude. If you have no experience with altitude, like me, then I recommend doing this as well. It gave us extra time to explore the old town and the markets, which was great fun. Our driver Norbu was excellent, clearly very experienced driving through many winding, narrow roads. He also created great vibes at rest stops etc :) The entire experience was fantastic! I really want to thank Ga Rong and Norbu for their hard work and creating a once in a lifetime experience for us.

5.00Honestly, one of my best travel experiences so far! This is largely thanks to having a great guide: Sonam. Not only was the guide extensively knowledgeable about the places visited, but also sincerely engaged with the members of the travel group. During my trip, someone became sick, but thanks to the great efforts and aid from the guide Sonam and driver Tuchan, the person was driven to the hospital without disrupting the trip and itinerary of the other travel members (the person recovered super fast thanks to this and even visited EBC the next morning). The accommodations were amazing to say the least! Proper breakfasts, clean and cosy rooms and all the places had oxygen supplies. The group size was just perfect! 5 people! Just enough to get to know the travel group members properly! The itinerary was well planned out and I liked it a lot! Not too packed, and good enough time for each of the places visited! Every day was an adventure! I would recommend this trip, guide and driver to anyone looking for a guided trip from Lhasa to Kathmandu! What an adventure! I am impressed!

5.00Our experience with Tibet Vista was excellent from start to finish. The booking process was very smooth, and Sara was extremely helpful in organizing our tour and additional excursions. She responded quickly to our questions and made everything easy to arrange before our trip. During the tour, our guide Ga Rong was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and shared many fascinating stories about Tibetan culture, history, and his own life experiences, which made the journey even more meaningful. His insights added so much depth to every place we visited. Our driver, Norbu, was also fantastic. He was hospitable, funny, and kept us entertained throughout the trip. Most importantly, he was an incredibly skilled and safe driver, which made traveling through the region comfortable and worry-free.
