Summit night on Kilimanjaro is the ultimate test of endurance. Your ascent begins around 11:00 PM or midnight, depending on your guide’s assessment. Dress warmly, ensuring your water and snacks are inside your jacket to prevent freezing. The steep climb to Stella Point (5,756m) follows the "pole pole" (slowly, slowly) approach. After a short rest with tea and snacks, you continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. The thin air makes each step difficult, but reaching the summit at sunrise is a moment of triumph. After taking photos, you begin the tough descent. Returning to base camp, you rest briefly before descending further to Mweka Camp (3,100m), where the oxygen is richer, allowing better recovery. The journey is exhausting but rewarding, a true testament to your resilience and determination. Kilimanjaro is not just about reaching the summit; it’s about the journey, the challenge, and the personal growth gained along the way.

In March 2025, we visited Tanzania for the first time with a group of seven to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and then conclude the trip with a safari. We chose the Lemosho Route for our ascent, which turned out to be an excellent choice. Our climb lasted seven days, and fortunately, we all made it to the summit. A large part of this outstanding experience was due to Tupae Adventures and the perfect organization they provided. The guides took great care of us, offering individualized support and perfect guidance. The food was absolutely exceptional and, considering the circumstances of a mountain expedition, it was phenomenal! The porters who carried our equipment did an extraordinary job and deserve the highest respect! John Paul, the head of Tupae Adventures, was responsible for assembling the mountain team and managing the entire organization. His excellent sense of the situation and understanding of our needs ensured that everything was taken care of. Even during the subsequent safari – including a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater – John proved to be an absolute expert! He carefully planned the details of our sightseeing tours, the accommodations, and put a lot of love and attention into everything. Individual requests were always considered, and he always had a creative suggestion for additional activities upon request. What stood out most for us was his personal dedication and the heartfelt passion he put into his work. We felt like part of the Tupae family and were treated as friends. It was this exceptional commitment that made our trip an unforgettable experience. We will certainly return to Tanzania and are already looking forward to the wonderful care from Tupae Adventures!

John organised a great trekking onto the Kilimandscharo. His team of guides and porters were excellent: competent, professional, friendly and joyful. We laughed a lot at the evenings in the big tent. We were closely monitored and finally cleared to make it to the top. The timing was perfect with sunrise at Stella Point. Besides, the team included two chefs who were able to do miracles! We compared ourselves with those trekking parties which literally carried the clients to the top and thought that John's way was way better and an experience for the rest of our lives. But John can also Safari (Ngorogoro Krater) and Sansibar.

John has assembled a really fabulous team of guides and porters, who have brought us all to Mount Kilimanjaro. Meticulously and intelligently planned (the tents were always set up so that you were the first on the path in the morning). Every morning pancakes, omelettes, toast and fruit. Abends three course meal. Every evening the oxygen content was checked and an extensive questionnaire was processed. Of course, the climb on the last day was tough, but the team managed to be spot on at Stella Point at sunrise. Just great. In summary, everything went perfectly. But it was a trekking tour and not a luxury trip like other providers do where you literally get carried up. Afterwards we went on a safari with John. Also super good.
