During the Discovery Trip "The Missing portet of Pieter Teyler" you will explore the city of Haarlem during a 90-minute self-guided walking tour. In 90 minutes, you will see the most iconic places of Haarlem while solving fun puzzles about the environment. Do your best and set a new high score for the trip together with your friends or family.

As Discovery Trips is self-guided, there are no fixed starting times. You can pick whenever you want to start discovering and pause at any time.

In this trip, you'll need to find the missing portrait of Pieter Teyler. Mr. Teyler is a well-known resident of Haarlem. The Teylers Museum and the Teylers Hofje are built with his inheritance. Letters indicate that he has hidden a painting and left hints throughout the entire city. Can you find the painting?

Update: We received feedback that the puzzles were to easy, so we recently updated our puzzles to make them more challenging!

App was not good for navigating the route! Did not clearly tell you the location. Hard to know what was coming next by site.

Nice way to explore the city and get a piece of history. Puzzles were mainly mathematical and doable. Extra plus if the captain of your group can do good imitations when reading the texts in the app;)

Nice experience to do a city walk. Nice route along nice places. Don't expect a very complicated escape route, but fun puzzle tour. Convenient that there is no time slot on it, so there is also enough space to see the nice places yourself in between.

A fun, accessible escape tour that leads you in a playful way along beautiful and special places in Haarlem. Not bound by time and therefore enough space to linger in one of the many beautiful places for a nice coffee. Definitely recommended!

We had a blast walking through a sunny Haarlem and solve all of the riddles. Definitely recommended for a day out with friends or family!

Little about the city of Hasrlem in the escape walk. The city needs to be much more involved in the story and the games old buildings bridges etc etc. That makes it much more challenging

We visited Harlem with Aymeric (small group of 12 people). Very interesting visit with a passionate guide who punctuated this moment between the discovery of current Harlem and the historical reminders essential to the understanding of the place. Pleasant exchanges, answers to all our questions. A very friendly visit that we highly recommend! Thank you Aymeric!

It was a nice route through Haarlem with relevant points through the city. Don't forget to look around you while completing these puzzles, because you will walk along several beautiful streets. Very nice!
