A Kodak monument in its own right, Bo Kluea translates to “SALT WELL” in Thai. Chiang Klang

Day 6 unfolds with a thrilling 266-kilometer ride from Chiang Klang Nan to Chiang Kong, a journey that ventures beyond the beaten path. Our first pit stop brings us to the renowned 1148 Café, a haven where we indulge in lunch while soaking in the mesmerizing views of Ban Talaymok. Upon reaching the park, we park our bikes and embark on a 400-meter walk to the pinnacle of this scenic wonderland. The road to our hotel in Chiang Kong is a motorcycle enthusiast’s dream, crafted for the thrill of two wheels. Day 9 unfolds with a 109-kilometer journey from Chiang Rai to Mae Ai and Fang, promising riders a blend of scenic beauty and cultural exploration. After a delightful breakfast, our path takes us northwest to the captivating Mae Fa Luang region, renowned for its tea plantations. As the wheels turn, immerse yourself in the breathtaking views of the valley and discover picturesque viewpoints that add a touch of magic to the ride. Fang

For lunch, we may have the opportunity to venture to the charming Chinese Village of Ban Rak Thai by the lake (48 kilometers in and out). Please note that the availability of this route depends on the authorities, as the road may occasionally be closed due to security reasons related to drug smuggling. Continuing our westward journey, we arrive at the beautiful town of Fang, our overnight stop. If time permits, we may explore the soothing Hot Springs in Fang, adding a touch of relaxation to the day’s adventures. Day 9 is a tale of tea-scented breezes, valley views, and the occasional glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of Ban Rak Thai. As we settle into Fang for the night, the anticipation builds for Day 10 – a continuation of the unraveling saga of Unseen Thailand, where every kilometer is a gateway to new discoveries.

Pai

More great winding roads on our way to Chiang Dao Caves ( Wat Tham) Chiang Dao. Next, we carry on heading South to Air Dimond Park for our lunch stop Then the fun begins as we head on the 1095 to Pai, this is the start of the famous May Hong Song loop 1864 cures. Pai is described as The Woodstock of Thailand, lots of fun bar and restaurants, walking street is where all the fun begins. As the night draws in we head back to our hotel.

Pai

Embark on the penultimate day of our Unseen Thailand adventure, covering 111 kilometers from Pai to the picturesque Mae Hong Son. Following a splendid night in Pai, we kick off the day with a hearty breakfast and a rejuvenating cup of coffee, preparing for the enchanting journey that awaits. The road from Pai to Mae Hong Son is legendary among motorcyclists, offering a visual feast of breathtaking scenery and dreamlike curves. As you navigate through this motorcyclist’s paradise, the air is filled with the aroma of fresh bread, adding to the sensory delight of the ride.

Mae Hong Son

Our route includes stops at a few charming coffee shops and viewpoints, allowing riders to pause and soak in the beauty that surrounds them. Each curve in the road becomes a painter’s stroke, crafting a masterpiece of natural wonders and open roads. As we approach Mae Hong Son, the anticipation builds for a relaxing evening. Day 12 marks the final leg of our incredible 12-day journey as we cover 323 kilometers from Mae Hong Son back to Chiang Mai. Although the road is long, the day promises remarkable encounters and a return journey through the stunning landscapes of Northern Thailand. Our first stop is the Huay Pu Keng Village, a unique destination where we have the privilege of meeting the long-necked ladies. Witnessing their way of life, adorned with intricate brass rings around their necks, is a truly remarkable and culturally rich experience. Take the time to absorb the unique beauty of this village before we embark on the final stretch.

Chiang Mai

The road back home takes us through familiar terrain, passing through Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand. As we navigate the roads, reflecting on the adventures of the past 11 days, the journey becomes a fusion of nostalgia and anticipation for the comfort of Chiang Mai. Upon our return to Chiang Mai, we head back to our hotel and get ready for our farewell dinner at Route 66 Bikers Cafe, where we can reflect on our tour.
