However, Mtskheta continued to serve as the coronation and burial place for most kings of Georgia until the end of the kingdom in the 19th century. The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (literally the Cathedral of the Living Pillar) is currently the second-largest church building in Georgia, after the Holy Trinity cathedral. In addition, Svetitskhoveli was the site of the coronation of the Georgian kings and served as their burial place.
Chronicle of Georgia was created by Zurab Tsereteli, a famous Georgian sculptor, painter and architect who resides in Moscow. Although most of Tsereteli’s works are found in Russia and the country of Georgia, the West became familiar with his creations through the Tear of Grief sculpture, presented as an official gift to the United States from the Russian government to commemorate the victims of the September 11 attacks. Tear of Grief memorial now stands on the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor in New Jersey.

We recently booked a trip to Georgia with Mr Nugo of Georgia365, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The entire tour was well-organized, hassle-free, and tailored perfectly to our preferences. Our guide-cum-driver, Mr Lavani, was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable trip. We wanted to see snowfall, so he adjuated the plan to ensure we see snowfall looking at the weather and guess what, we experienced once-in-a-lifetime heavy snowfall in Gudauri. From breathtaking landscapes in Kazbegi to the charming streets of Tbilisi, every moment was well-planned, allowing us to enjoy the sights without any stress. The transportation was comfortable. A special mention to Mr Nugo for his prompt responses, professionalism, and attention to detail. They made sure we experienced the best of Georgian culture, history, and cuisine while ensuring our comfort throughout. Highly recommend Georgia 365 anyone planning a trip to Georgia. Georgia is absolutely breathtaking and Nugo was the perfect guide for this trip. We did our own research and shared our itinerary with Nugo but unlike other guides, he helped us plan our trip in a way where we didn’t miss out on the fun and exciting things. He is super patient, extremely polite, kind, really fun, fantastic photographer and most importantly safe. While we did try Georgian cuisine on our own but never did we find restaurants that were as good as Nugo’s recommendation. Every restaurant he took us to, we absolutely loved the food. So, if you’re planning your trip to Georgia with him, have an idea of what you want to see, tell him what your vibe is and leave the rest to him. And definitely listen to his playlist. We surely did make a new and dear friend and I bet you will too.
