  Booked online before leaving for Belize.The website will explain that this tour is dependent on the amount of rain that occurs . The tour only allows a certain number of tourists per day so the guide service is strictly controlled.Fortunately the rainy season had just ended and the cave was open so we were able to go.The guide service picked us up at our hotel in San Ignacio and took us to the meeting point which is close to the village of Teakettle .Anyone who does this tour will be asked to sign a waiver since the tour is moderately strenuous and will have you fording three river crossings and some rock climbing.The service will supply floatation equipment and are very helpful and ensure that you are safe throughout the trip. The ATM. Cave is an adventure with caving,wading through a clean underground river with stalagmites stalactites and finally climbing up with the expert help of your guide to a Mayan temple where skeletons are on display ..On the way back out the guides will give you an adrenaline rush through a number of water chutes .Of all the attractions in Belize this is a “Must Do “.Cameras are not allowed since someone dropped their camera on the skull of skeleton.Afterwards the guide service will provide you with a traditional lunch before taking you back to your hotel.We are both seniors and would do this adventure again in a heartbeat.The guide will break up the group so there is never any overcrowding and the group in front included a couple of older children so it can be a family affair Enjoy the once in a lifetime experience

  Seeing the skeletons of the sacrifices and how the mayans lived it was very interesting and the guides were very detailed .

  Just a word for this experience: AMAZING This site probably one day will not be any more accessible, because is an archaeological treasure, so I strongly suggest to visit it while it's still possible.

  We went at the beginning of the rainy season, the tour was more physical than we expected, but there were 2 young kids on the tour behind us who did it! (they were around 8 y/o) The tour involved swimming, walking on rocks in waste high water, and climbing, but it was all worth it. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took pride in protecting the remains.
