  Elias’s tour was truly amazing and one of the best city tours I’ve ever had the pleasure of taking. We were just three people, and it was clear that Elias had designed the programme to suit our interests and age. He knows everything about his city and answered all our questions with great detail. The tour was perfectly balanced, with a visit to a small but well curated museum, a stroll through a lively market, a drive up to Toto Mountain where Ethiopian marathon runners train, offering stunning views of the city. While we were driving, Elias pointed out all sorts of interesting spots. We also had lunch at a lovely local restaurant and ended the tour with a visit to a coffee shop and roastery where we made Ethiopian coffee the traditional way. The pick-up and drop-off at my hotel were right on time, and the vehicle was very comfortable. If you are in Addis for a short time, this tour is definitely something you should consider.

  My wife and I had two short visits to Addis Ababa, and we've had several good experiences with tourguide Elias. We look the local city tour, as well as a tour to Debre Libanos and to the Crater Lake. Elias speaks excellent English, which makes communication so much easier. Ethiopia is a place where life operates differently than in western nations, so we need a local person who understands the preferences and expectations of western tourists and can figure that out in a local context. Elias really thinks through all the implications of travel and makes appropriate plans (e.g., telling the restaurant an hour ahead of time that we're coming, to reduce our wait time). He explains local customs and practices, and has keen insight on what westerners want. We found Elias quite pleasant and charming. He can customize tours based on individual preferences and priorities, and provide recommendations for self-directed travel (e.g., recommendations for local shops and restaurants). We highly recommend Elias and Shebapath.

  It was a great experience. I highly recommend our tourguide that time Elias. He was bery helpful and informative. He never stops explaining while doing the tour and even in the car. You would feel that you have already tour all round ethiopia.

  If you are visiting Addis Ababa and want an experience that feels authentic rather than 'touristy,' I cannot recommend this tour enough. It was an absolutely incredible day that left me with wonderful memories of Ethiopia’s heart and soul. Since there were only two guests, the entire experience felt deeply personal and perfectly tailored to our interests. Our driver, Seifu, was the definition of professional and kind, navigating the city with ease. Our guide, Elias, was exactly as promised: friendly, incredibly flexible, and remarkably positive, even when the unpredictable rain and Addis traffic could have easily dampened the mood. They truly went above and beyond to ensure the day was special. From taking stunning photos for me to sharing deep, valuable insights into the local culture and history, they helped me get a real sense of the country beyond the surface. Two moments stood out as absolute highlights: the breathtaking, panoramic views from Entoto and the traditional coffee ceremony, which felt like such a warm and authentic moment of connection. The tour was well-organized, insightful, and seamless from start to finish. A huge thank you to the team for such a memorable time.   We did a day trip to Addis Ababa. The tour was perfect and we experienced the city in a special way. Elias the guide was charming, interesting, answered every question we had and was responsive to all requests and tailored the trip to exactly what we wanted

  Book Elias! If given a choice, he's head's above the rest. He made the overall experience fantastic. We got a great sense of the city, its history and its culture. TripAdvisor asks what was most memorable? and our guide really made all the difference. I am writing this after 5 tours in other countries and 2 more in Addis. It has been consistently downhill. We tried to book something else from the same company in Ethiopia and Elias was not available and the other guy was fine, but more like a driver. In Egypt it was all kick backs. We got pressured to buy from their friend's businesses. We were treated like a means to an end. Ignored when we said we wanted to check in 1st etc. In Doha the English was minimal, but I think people can still be engaging and try. They weren't and didn't. Especially with translation apps etc. It's so wonderful when the guide brings knowledge and personality. Other guides were nice, but just nice. I think what I enjoyed the most was Elias' history knowledge. He told it like a story. Was able to answer any question and seemed to be really enjoying it. Other guides make it seem like it's a job anyone can do. They come off as if they are waiting to be done. They don't bring any particular skills outside of knowing the names of the buildings. Having a professional, friendly, bilingual cicerone is key to ending the day with smiles and good memories. I would definitely recommend anyone do this early on during your trip. Now Addis is my 2nd favorite city. I was born in New York so sorry I can't say my favorite LOL. I loved this tour and can't wait to get back to Addis. Thank Elias for making our day so fun and introducing us to yummy local food. 10s across the board.
