The Addo Elephant National Park is the 3rd largest national park in South Africa and is home to over 600 elephants, lion, buffalo, rhino, antelope, zebra and much much more.
Our experienced and enthusiastic Guide will do his best to locate as much of the game available in the area during your drive. As the game drive covers all time periods of the day you should have the opportunity to see most game species.
The first few hours we usually have good sightings of antelope, zebra and lion. We will stop for a Tea/Coffee break at around 10h30. Elephants and buffalo are usually spotted a little later around the waterholes. At lunch time when we serve a delicious South African “braai” with beer, white wine, juice and mineral water. (Delicious vegetarian option available)
After lunch we continue with the safari.
We will leave the park at 17h00 and return to your place of accommodation.
Refreshments will be served throughout the drive.

We pick up from all Port Elizabeth and Colchester Hotels and Guest Houses and at the Matyholweni Rest Camp - (Southern Gate of the Addo Elephant National Park, The GPS coordinates are as follows: Latitude: -33,6719 Longitude: 258122.) Pick up time is between 07h15 and 08h30 (Depending on travel time to the Addo Elephant National Park)

Our experienced and enthusiastic Guide will do his best to locate as much of the game available in the area during your drive and interpret their behaviour. The first few hours are usually good to see antelope, zebra and lion. As this Safari covers all time periods of the day you should have the opportunity to see most game species. We will stop for a Tea/Coffee break at around 10h30. We continue and usually have good sightings of elephant and buffalo nearer the waterholes. At lunch time when we serve a delicious South African “braai” with juice, mineral water, beer and white wine. After lunch we continue with the safari. We will leave the park at 18h00 and return to your place of accommodation. Refreshments will be served throughout the drive.

Amazing day, a must-do experience

5.00From start to finish our day has been amazing. We were picked up at 7:45 from our hotel in Port Elizabeth and shared our truck with 1 other couple. The truck and driver, Steve, were ours for the whole day. It only took about 35 mins to reach Addo and our game drive began. The drivers are in touch with each other to share locations of animals. We saw about 100 elephants, lots of zebra and warthogs, even lion cubs! Also different antelopes, a buffalo, a rhino, jackals and tortoise. We spoke to people on self drive and they hadn’t seen a single elephant. The park is huge so the drivers knowledge makes the difference. Steve was very knowledgeable about all the animals and birds and could answer every question we had We stopped for tea/coffee and biscuits at 10am, then at midday we arrived at the braai area and Steve grilled us an amazing lunch. The salads and breads had been made by a chef and were accompanied by sausages, steak and chicken kebabs from the grill. There was wine, beer and soft drinks flowing. Each guide had their own table area with tablecloths, plates, glasses, cutlery etc but there were a few groups do it was a lovely lunch chatting to the visitors from the other trucks and we were a multi national group. Mid afternoon we stopped again for a break, there was cold water available all day long. We left the park at 5pm and Steve had us back at our hotel in PE just after 5:30pm. A truly amazing day

5.00It was a wonderful day. Our Guide, Mostaff, picked up us at our b&b in time. We learned so much about Addo Elephant NP and listened the comprehesive comments of our wonderful Guide. He celebrated the braai, which was really good on acalm shelter whithin the Public picnic Ares. We saw lots of animals, especially in the afternoon, due to teperature became lower. Most of them we could See due to the hint of our Guide, who was very well experienced with the NP.

Steven, the guide, was not only knowledgeable, but also amazing in his patience and the termination to help us find animals per The launch was absolutely delicious and very well prepared. 5.00Steven was our guide and wow, such a charismatic person! To start, he was right on time, he was always taking good care of us. Lunch was FANTASTIC! Grilled right there with elephants and zebras on the background. We saw a good variety of animals, and Steven was very aimed to find the right spot for us to look at them as close as possible. We came during winter time and its highly recommended since there is no much crowd around! Glad to see all ADDO facilities inside the park are in excellent conditions!! This is a must do activity to experience while in Port Elizabeth!!
