This activity is actually the only workshop for tea production in the Highlands. It features the visit of a tea factory and the visit of Nandi Hills, a unique region, and allows you to follow the process of making tea for one day, from harvesting, weighting, transporting, transforming, and tasting.

The morning begins with an explanation of how the harvest is conducted. You then witness the weighing of the tea which, has recently been modernized. A meeting with the tea pluckers that allows you to see their proficiency and resilience in accomplishing a repetitive but very important task. Back at the cottage for lunch, you then visit one of the 19 tea factories in Nandi County. You discover the process of production of the tea leaves into a finished product. The day ends with a tea tasting.

5.00Educational experience in the natural beauty. The Agro Tourism Tea Workshop in Nandi Hills was one of the highlights of my trip! The natural beauty of Nandi Hills, the serene environment, and the hospitality of the locals have captivated. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and explained everything beautifully. All in all, it was a dreamy day. In this one-day program, I got a chance to see the entire process of tea making with my own eyes-from collecting the tea leaves to weighing them, taking them to the factory, processing them, and finally tasting the tea-everything was a wonderful experience. Thanks to The Safari Side for organizing such a unique event-it was truly memorable! This workshop is perfect for those who are looking for a slightly different, educational, and close-to-nature experience.

5.00Between the safari, Lake Baringo, the tea experience was the best for me. In one day, this activity takes you to Kenyan lands with a “culinary” adventure that I like. I am a fan of chai/Kenyan tea and having the chance to understand and see the process of this drink by visiting the plantations and the factory is just amazing. I recommend this activity

5.00The Swiss Side organized for us a diversity of activities, including a 4-day safari, a Tea Workshop, bike rides and beautiful hikes, and other visits. They were extremely attentive to every detail in order to make this a memorable experience, and were very flexible to tailor the program to our particular wants and desires. We warmly recommend The Swiss Side, whatever activities and sites you want to explore in Kenya they will organize it for you.
