The 8:30am option departs from 488 Post Street. Look for a black Mercedes sprinter van parked across the street. It will start with Muir Woods and Sausalito then go to Alcatraz.

The 9:10am option departs from Pier 33. It will start with Alcatraz then go to Muir Woods and Sausalito.

The 12:50pm option departs from Pier 33. It will start with Muir Woods and Sausalito then to Alcatraz at night.

    The tour was very organized from start to finish. Our guide was funny, helpful, and kept everything running smoothly. Muir Woods was my favorite stop — absolutely beautiful and peaceful, and I got some great photos at the Golden Gate Bridge. Personally, I would swap out Sausalito, as it didn’t really do much for me, but overall an excellent experience!

    It’s a full day but very interesting. My grandchildren had so much fun on this tour . My recommendation is to keep the three places closer together so it’s not such a long day.

    We were a little uncertain about our tour when we learned about a government shutdown and then on top of that found out there would be rain on the day of our tour, but our tour guide was flexible and planned an alternate route for us (at our approval). She managed to enable us to see all that we wanted to see, as well adding in some unexpected stops that we really enjoyed! She was extremely knowledgeable and was warm and humorous and really made the entire experience exceptional!

    I chose the option to visit Alcatraz in the morning. I had no idea that there was so much uphill walking involved so keep that in mind. This time of year there are also a lot of flies; they drove me a little crazy. I found the tour itself very interesting though. With Muir Woods being closed due to the government shutdown, our tour guide, Dustin, took us to an alternative park where we could see lots of beautiful redwoods. Sausalito was up next. There wasn't a lot to do there besides get something to eat and do some light shopping but it was a beautiful town. On the way back to our starting point, we stopped at Battery Spencer (I think that's the name) to take pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. The tour was great overall. Our tour guide kept us entertained and informed as we drove from one attraction to the next.

    Received an email the day of the trip that the Muir Woods part of the trip was cancelled because of the government shutdown. obviously not the tour operators fault. They offered an alternative option to replace the Muir Woods portion of the tour with some sightseeing or a refund. We chose to go with the alternative option because we wanted to go to Alcatraz with was still open. The tour was okay until we were dropped off to go to Alcatraz. We got off the bus and tipped the driver and he started complaining to us and others his tips were not enough. Unbelievable! Also the tour operators did not have to pay the entrance fees for Muir Woods because it was closed but didn’t offer any discounts to everyone that still took the tour in stead of canceling
