Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Travel to Alexandria. Start the tour with the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.

3.00We had booked a car and driver only for the trip at 7. We had made it clear we would buy our tickets and not for every site, only where we wanted to enter. We were asked to be picked up at 6.45am. After picking up another family, we were taken to Montaza Palace first. The guide got off to buy tickets and we assumed it was for the other people. Then he asked us all to get off and handed us 2 tickets worth USD10 each and requested payment. We were not happy about not being asked and secondly being forced to pay for something we didn’t want to see. It was a ticket just for the ground and only for 15-20 minutes!! The other stops were mostly from outside except for Catacombs(tickets), church and mosque which were free. We were also taken to a souvenir shop which was not mentioned in the itinerary. By 1.30 we were taken to lunch and then the trip was over. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English. The driver was friendly. Overall not a great trip, too hurried.

4.00This was actually a walking tour in Alexandria, not from Cairo, but I couldn't find that option. Macy was so sweet! She told us facts about Alexandria and shared about her life. She got us some tea and tissues and helped us with information about getting the train to Cairo.

5.00The tour was excellent. Our guide Karim was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very engaging. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to visit inside the mosque, a unique experience for us. We would recommend this visit very highly.

4.00Pick up and drop off was as advertised. Our guide Mohammed was very knowledgeable and the catacombs were my favourite. The only downside was lunch, it was simple awful.

5.00The trip was well organised. Both the driver and the guide were punctual and helpful. Our guide Karim was nice, knowledgeable and communicative. He adjusted the schedule to avoid the traffic and crowd, so we could have a better experience.
