Smooth sailing and excellent meal. We visited two beautiful Greek islands and had the opportunity to walk around and enjoy the place. A must do while in Athens.

We had a fantastic day cruising to Agistri, Moni, and Aegina aboard Calypso B. The crew was incredibly friendly, energetic, and attentive throughout the trip. We lounged comfortably on deck as we sailed, enjoyed great music, and were served excellent food and drinks—our bartender made sure everyone was happy! At Aegina (the “pistachio island”), the crew brought us to a stand to sample pistachio products and gelato. They also offered helpful suggestions at each stop—we explored the Temple of Apollo thanks to their tips. If you’re looking to escape Athens for the day and swim in crystal-clear waters while enjoying a fun crew, good food, and drinks, this cruise is highly recommended!

This was one of the best offshore day trip I have taken in a long time. This is actually my family’s third time on this exact trip and why they requested the same captain and crew several times.

A lovely, if long, day. Our experience: it was me (50s female) with my 16yr old son. We opted for transport and received a message the evening prior to meet the driver a 4-minute walk from our hotel. I think because the transport bus was too big for the narrow streets our hotel was on. The bus was air conditioned but still a bit warm. We made a few more stops on the way to the pier. After around 30-minutes we arrived at the pier. Arriving at the pier, the order of boarding the boat sealed your fate in terms of seating. For the most part, once individuals chose their seat they kept it for the whole trip. We boarded early and so felt grateful to get lounge beds under the shade sail on the side. There were 3 rows of them, 6 beds wide. So some people were on the "inside" and had to climb around others to get in/out of their spot. More shaded seating in the back of the boat - a mix of lounge chairs, regular chairs, bench seating and a couple chaise style seats. Finally, a mix of lounge chairs and bench seating in the front of the boat, in full sun. My guess is there were maybe 40 people on the tour. On our tour it was a mix of ages, no small children. We had a very chill group, no loud partiers. Even one of my bed neighbors asked them to turn down the music, which I appreciated. We went during a heat wave in Athens so really appreciated being on the water all day with the breeze. Mostly not a lot of rocking of the boat, only briefly a few times. Another lounge bed-neighbor said she suffers from sea sickness easily and she barely had a problem. Water was available in small cups. Definitely bring a water bottle to refill. They also had wine, beer, sangria and a variety of sodas. They served pastries not too long after getting underway. Nothing fancy but appreciated. The boat had wifi that worked all day. Bathrooms of course on board. Everything was clean and functional. I would say the luxury rating of the of the boat was maybe three stars. After 2-hours we landed at the first stop. We had choices to 1) walk to a nearby beach. I observed chairs and umbrellas to rent. Or 2) go with one of our trip guides to taste pistachios and pistachio Gelato, 3) get a taxi tour of the island (€50 euros for the whole car), 4) a horse and buggy ride (€20 I believe), or you could simply walk around town on your own. There were plenty of shops and cafes. We tasted (and purchased) pistachios and gelato and then I walked around shopping a bit while my son sat (in the AC) in the Gelato shop. We had 90-minutes on the island. 20-minutes to our next stop. We pulled up next to an uninhabited island and stopped for a swim and lunch (no one swam to the island, I'm not sure if that would have been permitted). Most people jumped off the boat but a few took the steps to get in. I think a couple people didn't even get in. I observed one older gentleman struggle a bit to pull himself up from the water, and the tour guide advised him the best way. That said, it was quite easy for most people. I am not in great physical shape but didn't have much trouble at all. There were snorkels, though nothing to see in the water. And pool noodles. The water was clear and SO BLUE, and the water temperature was perfect. Cool but not cold, perfect for a hot day. We drifted in the water a bit and our hosts kept a good eye on all of us, calling us back if we drifted too far. It was not physically strenuous. You would have to be in very poor physical shape to not be able to handle it (I would think). Lunch was very good. Chicken thighs, two penne pastas (red and pesto), Greek salad (all the feta was gone by the time we exited the water), bread, a savory rice dish, potatoes, tzatziki and pita, another chicken dish in a sauce and probably more I'm forgetting. If they described what the different dishes were I missed it while we were in the water but I'm sure I could have asked. Very filling. I'm guessing this was also a 90-minute stop. 3rd island was not too far away, Agistri. 90-minutes (due back on the boat by 4pm). Options included beaches, renting eBikes, shopping, etc. We walked ~250 meters (0.15 miles) up from the pier to rent bikes and rode around the island. It was picturesque and quaint, and very hot. The bikes were great. Again, I'm not in great physical shape but I set the bike to maximum assistance and didn't have any trouble. The bike had a basket on the back so I could put my water in purse as we rode around. AgistriGo charged €10 each for a 1-hour bike rental (accepted credit cards). We initially tried to rent scooters but they didn't have any available. As we rode around we noticed some other shops and possibly could have rented scooters from one of them but it would have been more of a (hot) walk from the pier and we were happy to have the e-bikes. Again, the island was quaint and I took so many pictures. It was a smaller Island than the first one and less shopping. I observed plenty of cafes. Lots of friendly smiles from the island residents (around 700 we were told) as we rode around. It was a beautiful ride! I got separated from my son and he ended up on the other side of the island, giving me a scare that we might not make it back to the boat in time. But he made it. Thank goodness our US cell phones worked so I could call him freaking out about the time and he could map back to the bike shop. Finally, the two hour ride back to the pier. I put in some headphones and listened to my own music and relaxed. My son fell asleep for a while as did many people. I was grateful we didn't have a loud party crowd. Back at the pier and we disembarked, back to the bus for the 30-minute ride to our hotel. We were exhausted! It is a long day indeed but a good option to visit islands in a day trip. My son preferred the catamaran ride we did a couple days prior (with only 12 people and 5 hours, but a much smaller vessel) but I can't compare the two being such different outings. I will say the catamaran felt a bit swankier with more/varied seating options throughout the day. I got back to our hotel and showered and zonked out for the night! Be sure to take towels, a change of clothes if you want, a water bottle (you can buy a plastic one on the first island for refills), I wore teva sandals and shorts and a tee over my swimsuit, headphones were nice to listen to our own music, sunscreen, an extra phone battery is handy if your phone can't last all day, some people brought their own extra snacks. I also brought a linen sun shirt, a hat!, a swim shirt, and a sundress for after swimming while I dried off. A credit card and/or cash for (optional) island expenses. Would I recommend this? I'd say after reading this you should know if it's right for you. It's not the kind of trip I would recommend for anyone, you have to be comfortable with being out for the entire day, possibly not getting your ideal choice of seating, not having a 5-star experience (but I would hope you would not expect that at this price point) and managing your time on the islands. I could imagine the other guests could also impact your day. I read some reviews where the crowd was loud and "partying", but that was not our experience at all thank goodness. Finally, the boat staff were lovely, friendly, helpful and I'm sure would do whatever they could to make you comfortable.
