What better way to experience Martha’s Vineyard – take a Jaws tour with us and you will have access to many of the films’ locations. You will hear many non-published stories about the filming, the actors, as well as being able to stop to take photos. The Jaws bridge is one of the top 5 attractions on the island.

Jaws Factoids:

- Although the movie is set in midsummer, producers began filming in early May 1974 to avoid an actors’ strike that was scheduled to begin July 1.

- Jaws was marred with so many technical problems that the originally scheduled 55-65 day shoot ballooned into 159 days, not counting post-production.

- Most highly anticipated movies were released around Christmastime, back then, but Spielberg took so long filming that the movie had a summer release date, which was traditionally reserved for low-end movies.

- Townspeople of Martha’s Vineyard were paid $64 each for playing extras who ran across the beach and screamed during the shark attack scene.

Not only did our guide know a ton of fascinating information about Jaws and he was in the movie, he knew so much about the island itself. He knew also about the people living there, both famous in the real world, and famous just right here on Martha’s Vineyard. He made stops at local favorites. We learned so much and got to see everything on the island that I probably would never have gone to myself. We definitely recommend this tour.

Although it as a rainy fall day, we enjoyed the Jaws tour that also included a full tour of Martha’s Vineyard. Phil was very knowledgable and was even an extra in the movie! As a local, he was able to share a lot of behind the scenes commentary about that time on the Vineyard. He shared historical information about the island, peppered with a celebrity home tour! Honestly on a rainy day we couldn’t have asked for a better overview of MV from the warmth of the can. We stopped for snacks at a couple of hidden treats on the island and overall we enjoyed the day!

Tour was very informative and interesting! We were very excited to hear Dave our guide was an extra in the movie and lived on the Island during the filming . Dave kept the tour interesting and gave many details about the movie and Island. Would highly recommend

We had a great time! Phil, our tour guide was amazing. He was actually in Jaws and had been on the island for many years. So whom better to show us around? He knew all the ins and outs of the island, filming locations, and extra locations. This tour is a must see for any Jaws fan. We had a small group but it was a very pleasant experience. The weather was great. the 4 hour tour was worth it. Heck, it could have easily been longer. I think the price was right for the amount of time you get and the places you get to see. I would definitely do this again. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who is a Jaws fan and want to see Martha's Vineyard.

Can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Our guide Dave was fabulous, had so much first hand knowledge and stories from being there back in 1974 when filming started. Also so much knowledge of the island as a whole.
Good tour but not Jaws focused.

Sam, our driver/tour guide was absolutely wonderful. Super knowledgable and very friendly. My critique is mostly with the description of the tour because it was very misleading. We were expecting a 4-hour tour that focused solely on Jaws. What we got was maybe about 1 hour total of Jaws-related sites and 3 hours on the history of Martha's Vineyard. While it was great info, it's not what we expected at all. This was far too light on Jaws. If you are going to do a "Jaws Tour" as it's called, it should focus on that topic. Knowing what we know now, we'd never have paid this kind of money for what was mostly a tour of the island.

Paul was an amazing guide. From being in the movie Jaws as a kid and born and raised on Martha's Vineyard, he has a wealth of knowledge and we couldn't have had a better guide. We loved all the stops, all the stories, commentary, his sense of humor, and the whole tour experience. Thanks for a perfect tour.

We had the Jaws tour with Dave, who was more than informative, he had literally lived and breathed, and was actually in the movie. We had a 4 hour tour that felt like an hour, Dave was both entertaining and respectful. We very much enjoyed the tales and the island of Martha’s Vineyard.
