Shymbulak

Shymbulak ski resort-is a ski resort near Almaty. It is the largest ski resort in Central Asia. It is located in the upper part of the Medeu Valley in the Zailiisky Alataumountain range, at an elevation of 2,200 metres (7,200 ft) above sea level. The resort area is about 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Almaty city by Medeo road. It is popular for its mild climate, large quantity of sunny days and great amount of snow through the winter (from November till May)

The park includes different types of trees such as elm, oak, aspen, maple, pine, spruce, poplar, and birch; artificial water reservoirs, attractions such as a water park, movie theater, sports complex, cultural venues, and public catering establishments. There are also children's attractions, which include a children's railway, an aqua park and other entertainment venues

Arbat Street or the Zhybek Zholy Street is Almaty’s main shopping street which is spread from Abylaikhan Avenue to Furmanov Street and is best explored on foot. Issykskoye Gorge

Issyk (or Isik- another name for the lake, translated as “a door” from Kazakh) is a picturesque, alpine lake surrounded by unusually beautiful nature of thick forests and spacious flower fields. The lake is located at an altitude of 1760 meters above sea level, in the Issyk gorge of Trans-Ili Alatau, about 70 km east of Almaty. Geologically, the lake was formed 8000 years ago as a result of a powerful rock avalanche, which later created a natural 300 m-high dam. The year of 1939 saw the beginning of active development of the lake territory, when a tarmac road, tourist center and bus station were quickly built. Dozens of thousands of Almaty residents and guests come there year round to relax in natural surroundings. The lake was so popular that even its photograph was printed in USSR’s tourist postcards and brochures.

Turgen Waterfalls

The Turgen Gorge is located near Talgar, a satellite town of Almaty. From the city of Almaty, it can be reached in about 1.5 hours, excluding traffic jams on the highway. On the way to the gorge, tourists often stop by a trout farm and an ostrich farm, as well as study the Saka burial mounds and a large-scale monument to the golden man

Market Green bazar-Located in the center of town right next to the Rahat Chocolate Factory, the Green Bazaar is Kazakhstan’s most famous market. Built in the 1970’s, with a new concrete extension that replaced the outdoor vegetable market in 2016, it is one of the cleanest, neatest markets of Central Asia

Park Named After Panfilov’s 28 Guardsmen

The 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park is an urban park in the area surrounding the Ascension Cathedral, in east-central Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is dedicated to and named after the Panfilov heroes which were the 28 soldiers of an Alma-Ata Infantry unit who allegedly died while defending Moscow from the German invasion during the Second World War
