What sets our tour apart is the rare opportunity to step into a real, working alpaca and llama farm — not just observe from a distance. Located in beautiful Bozeman, Montana, our one-hour+, hands-on experience invites guests of all ages and abilities to connect with animals in a meaningful, memorable way.
Unlike standard petting zoos or walk-through tours, you’ll feed treats, learn how to halter and handle alpacas, give them baths on warm days, and — depending on the season — meet baby alpacas (called crias) and their moms. You may even witness a live birth or breeding session, as this is a full-time textile farm where life unfolds in real time.
Perfect for animal lovers, families, and adventure seekers alike, our group format ensures a personal, immersive experience that’s both educational and unforgettable.
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
Suitable for all physical fitness levels
No public restroom available
Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome on our farm tours. However, please note that the terrain includes gravel, rocks, and dirt paths, which may be difficult to navigate for some mobility devices. We recommend using all-terrain options if available and are happy to accommodate as best we can — just let us know in advance.
A Note to Parents: We love welcoming children to the ranch and believe farm visits can be a magical, educational experience for all ages. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests, animals, and team, we kindly ask that children are supervised at all times. For families with young kids, we recommend a ratio of at least one adult per two children to help guide safe, respectful interactions with the animals and the environment. This is a working farm—and we appreciate your help in keeping the experience calm, safe, and positive for everyone involved (including our alpacas!).
We understand that mobility can be a concern, especially for those who may have difficulty walking longer distances. As a working farm, our property includes uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt roads, and natural rocks, which may present challenges for some guests. That said, our tours move at a relaxed, comfortable pace with plenty of time to enjoy the animals. If you're able to walk approximately 100 yards from the parking area to the barn, we have a shaded swinging chair where you can rest and take in the views. We're also happy to bring alpacas over to you for up-close interactions, so you can still enjoy the experience without navigating the full tour route. We want everyone to feel welcome here and will do our best to accommodate your needs. If you have questions or would like help planning your visit, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Along with alpacas and llamas, you will meet our three Turkish Anatolian Guard Dogs, Chili, Hazel, and Finn, they are litter-mates and best friends! Our chickens and horses (seasonal) love welcoming our visitors and will always take some extra treats too! We have ground squirrels, deer, bald eagles, and of course our cat, Jill, will occasionally make a special appearance. Take lots of photos during your time on the farm and with your favorite alpaca (don't forget to tag us on social media). At the end of your tour, you'll get to pick out a keychain or sticker souvenir to remember your visit with us! Please wear closed toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and make sure to put on sunscreen as we will be outdoors for the entirety of the tour. Additionally, bring water and note there is not a public restroom on site. Please remember this is a full-time working farm, so you may see alpacas breeding, live births, etc. and always watch your step!

We absolutely loved this experience! Our guide, Jenna, was amazing — such a kind, sunny person who made the whole tour even more enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable, patient, and fun to be around. Sarah was also wonderful, helping out and making sure everything ran smoothly. The alpacas and llamas were so sweet and beautiful! We got to feed them by hand, pet them, and spend plenty of time interacting with them. There were also a couple of adorable guard dogs on the property and even two friendly horses we got to meet. One of the highlights was meeting the baby alpacas — we got to hug them and take lots of photos. Afterwards, we each got to walk a male alpaca on a leash, choosing our own alpaca “friend” for the walk. It was such a unique and heartwarming experience. The farm is very clean and well maintained, and the gift shop is fantastic — full of beautiful clothing and items made from alpaca fiber. We even received a free sticker, keychain, and discount for taking the tour, which was such a nice touch. The whole experience lasted around 2 hours instead of the scheduled 1, which was a wonderful bonus since it gave us more time to enjoy the animals. I can’t recommend this place enough — it was truly one of the highlights of our trip!

What can we say about Alpacas of Montana, but what a great experience! It's located just outside of Boseman. They have ~70 friendly Alpacas and Llamas, which we hand feed and took for a walk. Our guide, Jenna, was top knotch! She was full of interesting facts and stories of the animals, including the herd dogs protecting them from actual mountain lion attacks! Although there were around 12 other people there, Jenna did a great job of spending time with each person. Annie, who handles the care and training of the animals, has done an incredible job! They also have a nice store loaded with beautiful items made from the fleece! Thank you for a great experience, which we highly recommend!

Jenna was amazing!!! The tour was great, the animals were amazing. They had shoes for all of us to use so we didn’t have to get our own shoes dirty. It was raining and it was still a good time!

Amazing experience! The tour guide was so patient when people weren’t listening and made sure everyone had an equally amazing experience feeding the animals. Definitely make sure to wear good walking shoes you aren’t worried about getting dirty and stop to go to the bathroom beforehand. Plenty of photo opportunities taken by the guide! Gorgeous views and lots of info about the animals and histories. Would recommend!!

Despite the rainy and cold weather, we had a nice time! Our tour guide was a lot of fun to listen to and the get hands on with feeding and walking the alpacas. Overall, it was a great experience and it would only have been better with a bit warmer weather.
