Our two grandchildren, aged 12 and 10, thoroughly enjoyed their time at the Waterpark. They stayed in the pool for over 3 hours - technically they say there is a 2.5 hour limit but they don’t seem to enforce that if they don’t need to. Though it was half term it was not overcrowded and there was minimal queuing. We had a horrendous time queuing for up to an hour for the car park the day before at the Adventure Park so we waited till lunchtime and sailed through without any queues at all - and the waterpark car park is free. A couple of points to bear in mind - you need 20p coins for the lockers and the cafe options are very limited. I am not sure of the Alton Towers policy on bringing in sandwiches etc. A lot of people did so I presume it’s OK. The staff were very friendly. There were plenty of life guards around and it was very clean. Its probably not as exciting for older teenagers as some water parks in terms of flumes etc but for toddlers up to pre teenagers it’s very good.

Staff are amazing and always on watch. Place was clean and so fun, me and my family had the best time! Shoutout to Callum J and the rest of the lifeguards for making sure my little sister felt better after an incident, Truly wonderful. Great experience will definitely come back 💕

These days you are waiting well over 1.5 hours to get onto the water coaster. It’s absolutely rammed !!! The outdoor swimming area called flashed floats used to be a walk on ride , like centre percs rapids. This attraction is also a huge line to get onto. It’s too small for the amount of gusts that have access to it. Brace yourself for this one, a can of beer is 6 pounds !! For a can 😨, that should give you a good reference to how expensive everything else is.

We had a great time at the water park! The water park itself was fabulous! Great slides and great fun suitable for a 4.5 year old. We stayed in a Beachcomber room at Splash Landings - the adults bed is tiny and uncomfortable and we had an awful nights sleep. Disappointed there was the “CBeebies police” on the door of that hotel so you weren’t able to look around - I didn’t realise you weren’t allowed to enter if you weren’t staying there. Limited outdoor play areas - unless you’re staying in stargazing pods but that was too big for my son and then just below in same area but not much, we saw a small one by the lake behind the Alton Towers Hotel but it was small - for a children’s hotel each hotel should have a visible area to play on suitable for all ages - more like Legoland so that was disappointing for the evening didn’t really have anything to do, the entertainment was just a singer and not interesting to a 4 year old boy. Would love to come again to the waterpark but wouldn’t stay over there would stay local and drive in.

We got there at 1,30 on Friday afternoon, changing rooms ok,staff were cleaning while we were there, the slides said a hour wait on both tubes slide, when you only get 2 hours, why would you waste your time,I think they let too many people in,I think it needs a re ramp with some matting coming apart and parts of the kids parts being closed.just too many people let in and a very average swim with my children.

Had 3 days, 2 nights in the resort. 2 days in the park and 1 in the waterpark. Good times had by all (2 adults and 2 kids- 8 years and 4 months). App gave reasonably accurate queue times and good directions round the park- could be better re sorting options (only walking distance and ride queue times), and times of live shows in CBBS land. Rides were smooth, lots of fun and staff were very friendly. Sky line wasn’t running due to hot weather so lots of walking! Drink refill machines didn’t always work, drinks often came out warm and they all ran out of ice quickly. Hotel room in Splash Landings was small and basic and would benefit from upgrade (carpet rippled throughout), needs air conditioning in the rooms (old school fan on wall made very little difference and given the hotel is heated for the waterpark it made it unbearable in a small room), not enough plug sockets, no towel rail in bathroom but amazing shower! Food was nice in Flambo Jambo’s and easy to navigate the buffet but expensive not on a dining plan and booking table wasn’t clear online. Worth going and will go back again but might try a different hotel.

We visited the water part twice first time in the afternoon. At this peak times there were too many people in the water park and long ques for the slides. Second visit we arrived first thing, much better experience.

We booked the Splash Landings Hotel as we wanted to use the Water Park twice during our stay. We booked in "online" as requested but that was a complete waste of time as system in the lobby didn't dispense the cards, not a good start. The carpet on the way to the room was wrinkled and a bit of a tripping hazards. The Room wasn't cleaned properly, we found "stuff" under the bunk beds. The water accumulated in the bath and took ages to flow away. We noticed that the cleaning staff were mostly teenagers (one looked even younger) and didn't speak much English. The rooms are "jaded" and certainly not the quality we expected for the extortionate cost. The double matrass had seen better days that's for sure and mad a bonging noise every time you moved. The shouting and screaming of other guests as well as kids racing in the corridors well after midnight wasn't great either. The breakfast was a chaotic buffet, the juice was from concentrate and the coffee was made for old socks. But the cooked breakfast was okay, on a par with Premier Inn. We booked the Alton Towers Hotel Restaurant one evening, because they serve Duck ; we were massively disappointed in the Food and the service (again a bunch of youngsters doing their best), the main course arrived before we'd finished our starters! And the price again extortionate did not reflect the quality of the food that was mediocre at the best. And do't get me started on the price of the Drinks, a Guinness, 1/2 Cider and a J2O, £16.50! What's that all about. The water park was over crowded with mega queues and you could barely move in the pools, the lifeguards (mostly stroppy) and the food again extortionate (£26.54 for a hot dog, nachos and a ham sandwich & a package of crisps). The facilities haven't changed in 20 years and shows the signs of age. We visited the theme park on Saturday and that was a good experience that thankfully saved the whole short stay although the early entry to get on the rides was a joke as we arrived a 9.15 am and they didn't open the rides until 10.00 am at the earliest. Not great value for money and not a patch on Disney Land that's for sure!
