I needed to pack in some sights and only had a day. I choose the combo as Suchitoto is a town my friends are not taking me and so it was a bonus to find it as a combo. All admission fees are small, with the ammmmazing Library being free. I choose not to pay for the National Palace as it was more and I didn't want to rush, so will return to pay the 5 dollars myself. All churches visited were so very different, all beautiful in their own way. My tour guide (Stanley) and drivers Jorge and Jose (in training) were so welcoming. I was alone on this tour Jorge picked me up at my friend's house with the biggest smile and great english, he was a wonderful addition to my tour, very knowledgable and could 100% do Tour Guiding too! Jose was lovely, I think his English is small at the minute but when talking about beer he said his favourite was Guiness... as an Irish girl I was proud hehe, even if I hate the black stuff hehe. Drivers were both super safe!! Stanley loves his country and his job, he is so excited to share facts about the spots we visited. He is very professional, dresses professionally and is very welcoming. He did a great job as I know with only one person on a tour it can be tricky. He was always ready to take my photo for me and we enjoyed an extra bonus stop which was wildly funny and worth the 3 dollars (The Plate Museum.) My only thing I would have wanted was a bit more history on El Salvador on the journey to the first stop, more context to assist me connecting the dots. I know a lot of people pre-read on the country but I knew nothing. And a bit more music in the car, Cumbia and other El Salvadorian tunes 😜 Great wee day! Thanks for a lovely intro to your country!! Ali

This was our first trip to San Salvador and I wanted a tour that also includes something outside the big city. Suchitoto actually became the highlight of our short trip to El Salvador: a very colonial town with a very pretty church and an amazing lunch at Casa 1800 with its fantastic view of the lake. Traffic in San Salvador is insane but we managed to see the highlights of the historic city center. Thanks to Adonis Gamez who was our guide/driver - he provided a safe journey and imparted knowledge about his country and the places we were visiting. Highly recommend!

It was a visit to Suchitoto, a very nice town, it is to go in family plan, enjoy local food, enter craft shops, local posts, nearby there is a lake, walk through its alleys and take many photos. Our guide was Alfredo and attended us very well, always attentive and friendly.

We a group of 4 people from Belgium like to thank Salvadorean tours for the perfect, flexibel and kind planning in consultation with us, filling in and carrying out of the 5 partly private and partly group full day tours. Mayra and Eduardo in the office, Miguel Cornejo our guide and George the driver you are all very capable, nice and gentle and flexible people who did a perfect job for us. We enjoyed it very much. Thanks again for our great stay in El Salvador. Kathleen, Bert, Frans en Nico. Nico Gijsen, Lanaken Belgium.

This is a good introduction to the north of El Salvador and the Centro Histórico of San Salvador. We were a small group of 5 total, driven by Omar and guided by Adonis. There was a lot of construction in Suchi which made it a little difficult to walk around the city and see it at its best. Only after the tour did I re-review the itinerary and realize that we did not stop by Casa 1800, which is even mentioned in Lonely planet for its view of the lake. We were only able to see a sliver of the lake from the city. I don’t know if this was due to time constraints but I would have preferred getting the view of the lake instead of the 25 minutes free time in Suchi. After driving back to San Salvador, there was free time for lunch, followed by a tour of the centro histórico. We were about to leave the cathedral when I asked about visiting the crypt, where Oscar Romero is interred. After the tour, I realized that we did not go to Iglesia El Rosario - I ended up going on my own the next day. This is a beautiful and unique church, so it was a disappointment not to have gone in the tour. I’m not sure why it was excluded; we spent more time than necessary at the library and could easily have used the time to walk the few blocks over to the church. There was quite a bit of traffic getting around all day as the tour was on a Friday, so bring your patience, water, and good walking shoes.

I did the Suchitoto and San Salvador tour with Alfredo Díaz, and he was an outstanding guide. You can tell he truly knows and loves his country — every story, detail, and stop came to life through his explanations. Super professional, friendly, and patient. I learned so much and had a great time — 100% recommended!
