In this tour we will dive deep into the life, art and inspiration of Vincent. You will learn why and how Van Gogh started taking up the brush at 27. Discover the importance of his beloved brother Theo in his life, and gain understanding about his relationships and his family. Van Gogh was tormented by his mental difficulties, learn how this shows, next to his genius and his temper, in his masterpieces such as ‘The Potato Eaters’, ‘The Sun Flowers’, ‘The Yellow House’ and ‘The Almond Blossom’. You will get a better understanding about the different artistic periods, for example his ‘dark period’ in Brabant, his experimental period in Paris, and his turbulent time with Gauguin in the yellow house in Arles. Vincent takes his own life at 37, his art dealer brother Theo dies a few months later. So who is the person who makes Vincent famous? Behind every success story of a man stands a great woman..

5.00We loved the Van Gogh museum. I love art, but don't know a lot about what I'm looking at or why it might be significant. I have found that I enjoy museums much more if I book a tour instead of walking through on my own. Roser was a wonderful tour guide, friendly and knowledgeable, and she gave us a great overview of Van Gogh's life and work. The tour was interesting and enjoyable, and I would highly recommend!

5.00I booked a Small-Group tour - but I was the only one on the tour, led by the amazing Liz Hebert. She was simply superb - knowledgable and friendly - the perfecr guide. I am a 68-year old male, who is not an art expert at all, but she answered all my questions with patience, kindness and enthusiasm.

5.00This is a ‘mustn’t miss’ guided tour in Amsterdam: a fantastic, informative, entertaining exposure to Van Gough Museum led expertly by Titia - excellent value for money! I’ve been to the museum multiple times before but never had a better experience. Titia was deeply knowledgable, passionate about Van Gough and the business of Art, and able to clearly convey interesting information in an entertaining way. Responsive ahead of the tour and very accommodating to her audience. Could easily have spent twice the valuable 90 minutes we had with her!

5.00Our experience at the van Gogh Museum was greatly enhanced by our guide Florentina’s informative and very well organized tour. Without her, we would have been viewing the beautiful art, but would not have appreciated its origins, development and context. We got so much more out of the museum with the guide then we would have on our own and with a book. Highly recommend.

5.00The tour was excellent due to our great guide Lisa! She was so knowledgable and effortlessly took us through the life of Van gogh as she took us to each painting. Her knowledge was amazing as well as her openness to discussion on the art. One of the best museum tours we have done in years (and we have done a lot!!!!)
