In this tour we will dive deep into the life, art and inspiration of Vincent. You will learn why and how Van Gogh started taking up the brush at 27. Discover the importance of his beloved brother Theo in his life, and gain understanding about his relationships and his family. Van Gogh was tormented by his mental difficulties, learn how this shows, next to his genius and his temper, in his masterpieces such as ‘The Potato Eaters’, ‘The Sun Flowers’, ‘The Yellow House’ and ‘The Almond Blossom’. You will get a better understanding about the different artistic periods, for example his ‘dark period’ in Brabant, his experimental period in Paris, and his turbulent time with Gauguin in the yellow house in Arles. Vincent takes his own life at 37, his art dealer brother Theo dies a few months later. So who is the person who makes Vincent famous? Behind every success story of a man stands a great woman..

5.00This is a ‘mustn’t miss’ guided tour in Amsterdam: a fantastic, informative, entertaining exposure to Van Gough Museum led expertly by Titia - excellent value for money! I’ve been to the museum multiple times before but never had a better experience. Titia was deeply knowledgable, passionate about Van Gough and the business of Art, and able to clearly convey interesting information in an entertaining way. Responsive ahead of the tour and very accommodating to her audience. Could easily have spent twice the valuable 90 minutes we had with her!

5.00Our experience at the van Gogh Museum was greatly enhanced by our guide Florentina’s informative and very well organized tour. Without her, we would have been viewing the beautiful art, but would not have appreciated its origins, development and context. We got so much more out of the museum with the guide then we would have on our own and with a book. Highly recommend.

Her knowledge was amazing as well as her openness to discussion on the art. One of the best museum tours we have done in years (and we have done a lot!!!!)

5.00Stan was our tour guide. We were a little concerned with how young he was, but within a few minutes, we realized we had the perfect tour guide. He works as a museum curator, and had a deep knowledge both of Van Gough, but the various influences on his works over time. He interacted extremely well with my wife, who had some knowledge of Van Gough's works going in to the tour. He really helped expand her understanding of his techniques, and the stages of his life.
