Whether you want to try fishing, canoeing, berry picking, or mushroom foraging, or simply lounge in a hammock while someone else catches lunch, the choice is yours – this day is all about you! After your chosen activity, we’ll gather around the fire to enjoy a delicious lunch. For an even more magical experience, you can add a reindeer farm visit to your adventure for an extra fee (+50 € person) . We go fishing with an angle to lake Suksijärvi. You can fish from the landing stage, boat or canoe. As you concentrate on watching the movements of the floating bobber on the surface, your thoughts will be free from everyday worries. After fishing, we enjoy our catch in a cosy wilderness cottage traditionally with potatoes. If we don’t catch fish, we'll enjoy anyway a delicious fish soup. After the meal, we will go to the local reindeer farm to learn about reindeer herding and life of reindeer. You will feel the calming effect of being around reindeer. Before heading home, we'll have a cup of coffee and roast some marshmallows on campfire.

Soma Adventures founder/owner Heli took us on a tour of a reindeer farm and then to lunch and relaxation time at her family’s cabin. She is from the area and was deeply knowledgeable about how folks there live their day to day lives, her perspective and personal connection to the place was so valuable. Her hosting is also top-notch, we loved lunch in the cozy cabin on the lake and roasting marshmallows in the kota. We cannot recommend Heli highly enough, she was extremely attentive and knowledgeable, the day was truly one-of-a-kind!

Highly recommend this very personal small group experience. Not touristic at all. This was the real silence and peace of Lapp-Land. Cosy lakeside cottage with fireplace radiating sweet warmth, delicious lunch after ice-fishing experience. Reindeer farm stop was awesome and very informative. We could feed lichen to reindeers and walk one on leach🙂
