  fun and authentic cooking class experience we had an amazing time at amggrek putih cooking class. the experience was very authentic, hands-on, and well organized from start to finish. the instructors were friendly, patient, and explained everything clearly, making it easy to follow even for beginners. we learned how to prepare traditional dishes using fresh local ingredients, and the food we cooked was absolutely delicious. the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it felt like cooking with family rather than just attending a class. ask to make chicken redang highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn local cuisine and enjoy a memorable cultural experience. definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

  What a wonderful hidden experience. We cannot fault Salma and the crew who helped us experience a wonderful lunch. We came in on cruise ship, arranged for the driver to pick us up from Lembar port and then went to cooking school. The garden tour was interesting, the cooking process was enjoyable and overall it was fabulous. Plenty of options, and way too much food. The ability to purchase a Bintag with lunch was a lovely bones.

  I had a wonderful experience at Anggrek Putih Lombok Cooking Class and Garden Tour. The morning began with a peaceful walk through their beautiful organic garden, where we learned about local herbs, vegetables, and spices used in traditional Sasak dishes. The hosts were warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel very personal. The cooking class itself was fun, hands-on, and easy to follow—even for beginners. We prepared several authentic Lombok dishes, all packed with fresh flavors from the garden. Everything tasted amazing! I left not only with a full stomach but also with a deeper appreciation for Lombok’s culture and cuisine. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lombok who loves food, nature, and genuine hospitality.

  Cooking Class is not just a cooking class! It's an experience of a lifetime and the highlight of my trip to Lombok. I will absolutely return just to experience it again! It starts off with a delicious welcome drink made from flowers, honey, and lime. Afterwards Christos the owner showed us his pond of catfish and then his lovely garden. The garden is full of amazing vegetables, chilis, fruits, flowers, legumes,- even luffa which i didn’t realize are grown on land and not coming from the sea.Everything is organic and natural and no pesticides are used. The tomatoes and bananas are to die for. After the tour of the garden and brief photos you begin the cooking class where everyone is assigned one dish and it was amazing to learn from his wife who is an expert in Indonesian cuisine. After preparing the feast I had one of the most amazing meals with everyone and I love how the recipes are sent to you so you can recreate them again. This is the best cooking class i ever taken and i would return to lombok just for this class! 10000000/10 recommend!! Lombok White Anggrek Cooking Class is not just a cooking class! It was a lifelong experience and the culmination of my trip to Lombok. I will definitely come back to try it again! Start with a delicious welcome drink made of flowers, honey, and spicy oranges. After that, Christos, the owner, showed us his lele pool and then his beautiful garden. The garden is full of vegetables, chilies, fruits, flowers, nuts, even the extraordinary luffa that I didn't realize was planted on land, not from the sea. It's all organic and natural, without pesticides. Tomatoes and bananas are incredibly delicious. After a garden tour and brief photos, you begin a cooking class where each person is given one dish and it is amazing to learn from his wife who is an expert in Indonesian cuisine. After preparing the dishes, I enjoy one of the most amazing dishes with everyone and I love how the recipes are delivered to you so you can feed them again.   In a word, fantastic. Fun activity to undertake. You get to know other tourists, share experiences with each other, but more importantly; you cook delicious meals with each other!! The recipes are delicious and also easy to replicate in your home country, few really "exotic" ingredients, so super cool! You start with a tour of their own garden where almost all the ingredients that are used later grow. Then you will work together to prepare an Indonesian rice table.   We had the absolute best experience at this cooking class in Lombok with Chris and his wife. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into their home and felt completely at ease – it was less like joining a class and more like being invited to cook and eat with friends. Chris and his wife are the most generous and knowledgeable hosts. Their beautiful garden is a treasure in itself – bursting with herbs, vegetables, and tropical plants, all grown with so much care and passion. They really are experts in gardening, and it was inspiring to see how much of the food we prepared came directly from their garden. You don’t just learn to cook here, you also see where the food comes from and gain a deeper appreciation for every ingredient. The class itself was brilliantly organised, hands-on, and full of laughter. We each got to take part in preparing a variety of dishes – from fresh spring rolls and satay skewers to fragrant curry and fried noodles. Chris and his wife guided us with patience and humour, showing us little tips and tricks along the way. It was approachable for all skill levels, but still authentic and true to the local cooking traditions. And then, of course, there was the food. Honestly, it was the best we have ever tried – full of flavour, freshness, and love. Sitting down together to enjoy the meal we had just cooked was such a rewarding experience, and we left with both full stomachs and full hearts. If you are in Lombok, this is an absolute must-do. It’s more than just a cooking class – it’s a chance to connect with wonderful people, learn from true experts, and share an unforgettable meal in a beautiful setting. Thank you Chris and family for welcoming us so warmly – this was a highlight of our entire trip.

  We had such a fantastic time here, not only cooking but learning about all of the amazing fruit and vegetables they grow on their land! We were talked through each dish, the ingredients and the best way to prepare each item, and really enjoyed learning the techniques. The food was absolutely delicious, every single dish was so good and we were very full afterwards! The hospitality was fantastic and all of the staff were so kind. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Lombok.

  This cooking class with Chris and his awesome team in Lombok was honestly one of the best things I did on my trip! Everyone was so warm and welcoming—it felt less like a class and more like hanging out with friends who happen to be amazing cooks. We started by wandering through their beautiful vegetable garden, with Chris showing us fresh herbs and veggies for the dishes. Such a cool touch—it made the whole experience feel so authentic and special. Chris is amazing and explains things in a super easy way, while the staff were absolute legends—always smiling, helping out, and making sure the food (and we!) turned out great. The dishes we made were bursting with flavor, and of course, the best part was sitting down together to enjoy it all. If you’re in Lombok, don’t miss this class.   Forget about the cooking classes done so far: this is a real experience in the taste, flavors of Indonesia and passion of the people who live in this guest house. You will be welcomed by Chris for a tour of the garden, you will taste some delicacies directly from the plants and then enter the kitchen and test yourself. No matter if you get by in front of the stove or not, your teachers will guide you through the recipes. The products are of the highest quality (the vegetables are all from the garden, such as spices and flavors), they will be attentive to your needs (you can indicate whether you eat meat or not) and at the end you will enjoy all the courses (including dessert) that you have prepared together with the other participants of the cooking class, enjoying an exceptional lunch, sharing experiences with other travelers. My fiancé and I found this place by accident and we can say it was a case of luck.
