  We received a great view of the town we visited and were able to get out of the trolley to explore. The “docents” were entertaining and informative.

  The great narration with history and urban legends was really fun. Our drivers were knowledgeable and passionate about Asheville. One of the trollies had an issue with a tire and they were quick to send a new trolley and pick us up to continue our tour. We met some nice people along the way as well! We really enjoyed our stops at the Grove Park Inn and the Hayward Hotel. The guides went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time. Great for all types of groups.

  Uncle Ted White was an excellent tour guide and really made the tour enjoyable. We enjoyed the experience. I would recommend Grey Line Trolley Tours to everyone looking for an enjoyable experience.

  We loved Lynn, our driver and guide! The tour was amazing with historic stories and facts about Asheville and it's people. It is a great thing to do on your first day in town to know what you want to see more of later.

  Never took a Hop On/Hop Off Tour before and just finished our 2nd day. My BF and I agreed that it changed our view of Asheville tremendously. Our tour guides, especially Matt, were warm, friendly, and full of historical and fun information. We visited places we hadn't seen and got a glimpse into what makes Asheville so unique. I saw a culture in old Asheville that I didn't know had existed and how committed the founders were with grand beginnings for our town. On our 2nd day, we revisited the places that held the most interest for us so we could learn more. We recommend Matt highly. He imparted a rich history that was fascinating. He's also organized, has interesting photos to show, speaks clearly and is easy to understand. Another guide spoke so rapidly that we lost some of the information in the presentation. I'll probably be taking friends who are new visitors to AVL on this tour in the future. Hop On/Hop Off makes it easy to linger or stop for lunch. A trip to the visitor desk before the tour departed steered us with a highlighted map to a great place for lunch and where to hop off to find it. We talked to several folks with the tour afterwards and found them all to be helpful and friendly and interested in our experience with their tour. Well-run, very thoughtful experience. I can't recommend it enough.

  We did our tour with Matt who was an amazing tour guide! I learned so much of the history of Asheville, the architecture, the famous people and films and the current city happenings. I have been on many of these tours in multiple cities and counties and Matt was hands down the best narrator ever! It was seamless and well organized and I would definitely do it again. Thank you

  Pros: Drivers were very informative about the city. Told interesting stories and shared history of the city. Good tour if you want to learn about the city. Ticket is good for 2 days which you need if you want to hop off at all the stops. Cons: Not enough time. Unfortunately we did not have 2 days. We chose the tour so we could visit areas of the city without someone having to drive. We got on the first trolley available in the morning at the art museum, scheduled for 10:50. Trolley arrived a little after 11. We got off at the Grove Arcade. The next trolley was scheduled for 1 hour later. We went to the stop 50 minutes later to not miss the Trolley. Waited about 15 minutes. Next stop River District. Again we only had about 50 minutes so we could get the next trolley. Waited about 15 minutes again. Skipped the next stop as we are not drinker. We were required to spend 30 minutes at the visitors center because the trolley stops for that long there. Got off at the Omni Grove Inn with less than 45 minutes before the last Trolley of the day would pick us up. Did not have time to visit the car museum or do any shopping. Last trolley returned us to the art museum stop a little after 4:00. Recommendation: Get on the Trolley at the Visitors Center. Otherwise you will make a 30 minute stop at the visitor center which is time you can use in another area of the city.

  We have taken several trolley tours with this company over the past several years. Micheal, a professional story teller was our guide yesterday. He does the best voices and accents of the characters he tells you about. He is an expert historian and made it fun. Oh the juicy stories he can tell! Micheal also gave restaurant, theatre, museum recommendations, which we really appreciated. You must go on this tour!
