Greece is the place where philosophy was born and thrived. Accompanied by a member of our team, you will journey through time in all the philosophical movements of ancient Greece and discover deep connections with our Myths and Gods of Olympus.
Democracy, physics, astronomy, ethics and many other applied sciences stem from philosophy and, naturally, philosophers are considered the world’s first intellectuals. Through a 4 hour private walking tour you will learn every interesting fact about philosophers from Thales of Miletus to Socrates and Plato, and from Aristotle to the Cynic philosopher Diogenes of Sinope, whose famous answer towards Alexander the Great “Stand out of my sunlight”, when he was asked whether there was any favour he might do for him, is indicative of his character.
You will get acquainted with the most important myths of the ancient greek world such as the story behind the birth of goddess Athena and everything around mischievous god Hermes.

5.00Bianca our tour guide must be a descendent of the ancient Greek philosophers! She fully engaged our 21 year old in didactic exploration of the history of Greek philosophical thought. Bianca is living proof that philosophy lives vibrantly in Athens today. Perhaps the best guided tour we've ever been on in five continents! thank you Bianca we can't wait to return for a longer visit to Athens and hope to see you again.

5.00This was an absolutely fantastic tour! John was a wonderful guide - warm, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. He brought Athens’ myths and philosophy to life in a clear, vivid and inspiring way. As a family of parents and two teens/young adults particularly interested in philosophy and Ancient Greece, this tour was perfect for us. It was a great combination of walking around Athens, seeing wonderful sights, and discussing myths, philosophers and history along the way. We especially enjoyed talking to John and exchanging ideas - he was so generous with his time that the tour lasted longer than the official 4 hours. (The drink stop in the middle was very welcome by the way!) One small suggestion for the organisers would be to consider offering a shorter version (maybe 2 - 3 hours?) as 4 hours may be long for some groups. That said, for us it was one of the very best tours we’ve ever done in Athens - highly recommended!

5.00Guide was very knowledgeable and we had some good discussions on the pre-socratics , Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to learn more about the history of Athens and philosophy
