Spend 3 days exploring the high peaks of the Atlas Mountains on foot. A hike amidst cool vegetation of juniper and pine trees is a perfect way to rejuvenate your mind and body. Go across deep gorges, gushing river streams and groves of cherry and walnut trees, as your guide takes you on a great walk up and down the beautiful hills.
The valleys are home to tiny hamlets and villages of the ethnic Berbers, a herding and farming community. Visit their homes and interact with them to know more about their traditions and customs. See their terraced fields of corn and barley and get a glimpse of their day to day living.

Toubkal Guide
Day 1: Pick up at 9:00 am in front of the big post office at the famous Jemaa El Fna square in Marrakech. After a transfer of about 1,5 hour to the village of Imlil, we start our trek. We walk from Imlil (1740m) towards Tinerhourhine, hereby passing by Tamatert. We will have lunch on the col of Tizi 'n Tamatert (2279m). After lunch continue to Ouanesekra-Tamguist. Later we arrive at Tinerhourhine (1600m) where we will spend the night in a local gite. Approx. 4 hours walking.

Day 2: We depart from Tinerhourhine along the Imnane Valley, hereby we pass the Berber village Ikkiss (1700m). We then continue to Tizi n’Aguersioual (2000m) and will have our lunch at Matate (2000m). We will spend the night in a local gite in Aït Aïssa (1800m). Approx. 6 to 7 hours walking.
Trek back to Imlil and transfer to Marrakech

Day 3: We depart from Aït Aïssa and walk towards Tizi Oussem (1900m). We pass by Tizi Mzik (2400m), and the village of Mzik before arriving back in Imlil. Approx. 4 hours walking time. Transfer back to Marrakech where you will be dropped of at the same location where we picked you up.

5.00An amazing experience. Trekking in the mountains through the valleys and seeing first hand how the Berber people live is truly fascinating. They really work with nature. Toubkal Guides was amazing. From pick up in Marrakech to drop off we were very well taken care of. Hassan, our guide, was very experienced and took extremely great care of us and adapted the pace to suit us. Mustafa prepared plentiful great meals to fuel us through. Thank you very much for creating awesome memories for us

5.00We had a fantastic experience on our 3 day trek (2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 9). Our guide (Ibrahim) and muleteer (Ali) took excellent care of us and provided a first class service. Ibrahim is very friendly and knowledgable and set a perfect pace, regularly checking in with us. His instructions were clear and we felt completely safe with him. Ali prepared super tasty and beautifully prepared food. The trek was the highlight of our trip to Morocco! The Willey family (April 2026)

5.00We took a two-day trek from Imlil to Tizi Oussem and back. Ibrahim was a wonderful guide and Muhammed cooked delicious food for lunch along the way. Luggage transfer was arranged for us. Trails are unmarked, so it is a good idea to do these hikes with a guide. Karima and Amina organized everything very smoothly and accommodated all our preferences. Highly recommend.

5.00I went on a private 4-day trek to the Berber villages, and it was a very nice experience. Even though we had some bad weather, my guide and the cook stayed lovely, cheerful, and ready for adventure. They also took my fitness level into mind and were very flexible with the plan. If something needed to change, it was no problem. There were always different options, and every night we discussed the plan for the next day. The food was very good and honestly way too much, but I enjoyed it a lot. I felt safe, welcome, and well cared for the whole time. I am very happy I chose this trek, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a real and friendly mountain experience.

5.00We did a 2 day hike and spent the night at a Berber village. Rachid was an excellent guide, very laidback and full of interesting facts. Communication beforehand was fast and transparent. The food was amazing! Would highly recommend!

5.00The tour in Altlas Gebierge was beautiful and very impressive. We had cozy nights in the tent at 3,200 meters altitude with best food. Through our guides Mohamed tsiou and Mohamed abayen we felt very well looked after and cared for, thank you to the two. Overall a successful tour.

5.00We just completed an incredible 3-day trek through the Atlas Mountains, starting and ending in the charming village of Imlil. The journey took us over four scenic mountain passes and through three stunning valleys, each offering its own unique beauty and atmosphere. One of the highlights of the trip was passing through traditional Berber mountain villages. These communities, tucked away in the hills, gave us a glimpse into a way of life that’s both humble and rich in culture. The locals were genuinely hospitable—offering smiles, tea, and warm welcomes wherever we went. Our guide, Ibrahim, was fantastic—knowledgeable, calm, and passionate about the region. He shared stories about the land and culture that added real depth to our experience. We were also lucky to have Mustafa as our muleteer and cook—he kept our bellies full with delicious, hearty meals and always had a cheerful spirit. We stayed in local ‘gîtes’ each night—simple yet cozy guesthouses that added an authentic flavor to the trip. Sharing meals and evenings in these mountain homes really rounded out the cultural experience. If you’re looking for a hike that combines breathtaking natural beauty, cultural immersion, and warm human connection, this trek through the Atlas Mountains is unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect from start to finish: the crossing of the Tichka Pass with its breathtaking landscapes, the visit to a typical kasbah that immersed us in Moroccan history, without forgetting the mythical film studio of Ouarzazate.
