Our Mother Nature will surprise you with an impressive display of vibrant and varied colors spread over the high peaks of Cusco. Remember that when you put your eyes on Rainbow Mountain, you’ll be contemplating millions of years of geological history and a natural wonder that’s not repeated on almost any other corner of the planet. You can also feel extreme tranquillity as you walk through the surreal Red Valley, surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains and beautiful slopes. At times, your only company will be alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. Also, from time to time, you’ll be able to observe the daily life of the Andean communities that are located in that sector.
It is not easy to believe in the beauty of the Andean night skies if you do not see them with your own eyes. Let the constellations and shooting stars hypnotize you before sleeping in our comfortable tents that you will find ready, with mattresses and pillows. So why not escape the hordes of tourists that saturate Cusco?

Excellent experience. Ask for guide Juan, and if you're lucky you'll get Denis as your cook. Juan is a highly competent, kind, experienced, gentle, patient, skilled guide and made our 5-day trek utterly delightful.

Juan and his team made our Ausangate trek the trip of a lifetime. He catered to our preferences (for solitude and exceptional camping) with great care, and he used his deep experience to ensure smooth travel. Our tent was ready (and beds made!) when we arrived at camp; meals were delicious, with fresh vegetables, interesting flavors, and classy expedition presentation. I have been a mountain guide for 20 years, and I cannot overstate Juan's skill: he moved easily between thoughtful conversation, silly joy, and enjoyable silence--we never felt obligated to stay too long in one vibe. He was caring and helpful without ever condescending. Critically, he offered rich insight into the cultural landscape around us--he taught us some Quechua, introduced us to local alpaca herders and helped us understand their traditions and lifeways. We were able to focus on enjoying the trek, caring for our bodies, taking photos, and learning. I recommend his services (and those of our arriero Jose Luis and cook Denis) without hesitation--worth every cent.

My wife and I had the most incredible time on this trek, chiefly due to the masterful guiding of Cecilio -- a truly heroic guide. A note to the uninitiated: this trip is tough. The altitude is challenging, though the actual distances aren't, but it's the cold that's the real irritant. When camping outside for 4 nights, with understandably poor-quality sleep, the walks are even more challenging. Of course, the views and solitude are unrivalled, making the struggle worthwhile. Although it's tough, the Peru Hike team do everything they can to keep you safe, warm, and happy: from hot-water bottles in your sleeping bag, to coca tea on wakeup, to popcorn at the nightly happy hour. The food is ample and top-notch, and the porter team are efficient and friendly. All in all, it was an amazing experience -- do make sure you know what you're getting into before booking, though. Having visited Machu Picchu, Choquequirao, and Manu National Park, this is the most challenging of them all. Once again, thanks to Peru Hike and, most of all, Cecilio for an unforgettable trip.

The most beautiful trek I did in Peru! Juan was amazing food was incredible! Made some incredible friends. Don’t forget to acclimatise can be dangerous. Would do it all over again and recommend bringing warm clothes was way colder than Salkantay.

Great experience with great support. Stunning. Highly recommended. One of the best trekkings ever done. Make sure that you acclimatise in Cusco a few days. Hiking 5 days between 4.300 and 5.200 meters you need to be prepared and acclimatised.

I can’t find the words to fully describe how incredible the Ausangate & Rainbow Mountain 5-day trek was. Every single moment felt like a dream—majestic landscapes, peaceful trails, and a deep connection with nature that I had never felt before. From the very start, Perú Hike handled everything with total professionalism. I felt 100% safe, informed, and cared for. The logistics were perfectly organized, and the attention to detail was outstanding. Each day of the trek brought something new: stunning turquoise lakes, vast herds of alpacas, and the breathtaking presence of Ausangate Mountain (6,384 m / 20,945 ft). Sleeping in the Andes under a sky full of stars was an unforgettable experience. On day four, arriving at the vibrant Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) was simply magical—nothing compares to seeing it with your own eyes. A special thanks to our guide, Juan, who truly made the difference. He was knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about the mountains. He shared beautiful stories, always made sure we were okay, and created a strong sense of trust within the group. The meals were delicious and energizing, and the camping equipment was excellent. If you’re considering doing this trek, don’t think twice. The scenery is out of this world, and with Perú Hike, you’re in the best possible hands. 100% recommended — trustworthy, professional, and deeply committed to an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Perú Hike and Juan, for making one of my biggest dreams come true. 🙏✨

We had a great time with PeruHike. The company was very responsive and adjusted the reservation to our needs. We were the only two people that signed up for this dates and still they didn’t cancel the tour and brought 3 crew members just for us. The guide was great, the food delicious and the entire camping experience felt 5 stars level.
