Indulge in all things sweet and savory on this Vienna food tour that will give you a total introduction to Austrian cuisine, from upscale dining to delicious street food. With your local guide by your side, you’ll skip past the tourist traps and discover the city’s culinary highlights in some of our favorite local neighborhoods.

You’ll sample classic Austrian dishes like goulash, käsekrainer (sausage with cheese), tafelspitz (boiled beef), and/or krautfleckerl (cabbage and noodles). You’ll also get to taste some Austrian sweet treats like apricot dumplings and homemade cake. Wash it all down with a beer or spritzwein, and a coffee or tea in a local cafe. Note that our tours vary with whatever is on season and on the menu that day.

Truly great experience with Maria, excellent knowledge, areas and venues visited were varied which gave real depth to the tour. Thomas at the market is a legend. Food and drink variety was so interesting and tasty. Do NOT eat breakfast beforehand if you want to make the most of this! Thank you Maria, your lovely manner and expertise beyond food and drink related matters was second to none. Lovely small group too. Highly recommend.

Maria was superb. Loved her! She took us around from d2 to 10 to 16 and back to 5. The ice cream was definitely the best in Vienna

Maria was an absolute delight!! I loved this tour so much!! Being able to experience the subway, but and tram was unforgettable!! And experiencing Vienna that way was lovely!! The food stops she chose were spectacular!! Highly highly recommend!!

Fantastic food and a knowledgeable guide who took us to the lesser known food destinations for a real flavour of Vienna!! I recommend asking to try the vanilla ice cream topped with pumpkin seas oil. It’s savoury, sweet and not to be missed.

An absolutely world-class experience — so much more than just a food tour. Our guide Maria drew on her amazing knowledge of Vienna’s food and beverage culture to tell the story of Vienna past and present. Food is indeed culture, and I cannot think of a better way to truly connect with the life of the city through its food and drink. A few tips: 1) the tour takes you to multiple districts in Vienna via tram and subway; you can buy a day pass at the beginning of the tour, but having one before you meet up will expedite things. 2) Eat only very light breakfast, if any, beforehand. This is not a “try this tiny bite” sampling tour. 3) I can’t speak for the other guides, but if you are so fortunate as to have Maria as your guide, ask questions and engage in the discussion. She is incredibly personable and knowledgeable about all things Vienna, not just the food and drink, and you will be treated to a masterclass in Viennese culture, history, and geography all through the medium of food and drink. 4) I would recommend scheduling this experience at the beginning of your visit to Vienna if possible because what you learn will enrich your other experiences in Vienna — but if you can’t schedule that way, go on the tour regardless! We enjoyed this tour immensely, and it is well worth the expense. My wife and I agree that this is an experience that creates lifetime memories. Thanks to Wolfy and the team, especially Maria, for showing us Vienna in such a memorable way!

Wonderful food tour with Christophe. Tried various types of delicious Austrian foods. Our guide was informative and funny. It's a lot of food, so be prepared. Highly recommend this food tour!

You MUST not eat prior to this tour. First culinary stop is in a cafe for coffee and pastry. Leisurely pace away from tourists. Tour covers several of the districts in Vienna and this tour includes learning how to use the public transportation. Other stops included a well-known donut shop, the best ice cream eatery in Vienna (Tichy), a 3-course "lunch" that included goulash, schnitzel and a wild garlic soup!!! This restaurant also served the original Budweiser, Czeckvar, a non-carbonated, very fresh beer. We toured one of the district's open air farmer's market and ended with a stop for 2 types of sausages with mustards and shaved horseradish. Also with beer or wine. If you like tourist crowds, this isn't for you. If you want the true picture of Viennese life, this is a MUST. One last thing --- Kristoff was the most amazing guide --- funny, very knowledgeable and bent over backwards to make this a memorable event for everyone. Thank you, Kristoff!

We very much enjoyed our tour with Wolfy. He provided a relaxed atmosphere while showing us around Vienna. We learned so much from him. The food was all delicious as well. Definitely recommend this tour, it was a highlight for us!

Our tour with Wolfy was great -- particularly because he took us to all different parts of Vienna to give us a true sense of the city, not just the touristy stuff. Food was great, especially the goulash and sausages with Tomas, but the tour itself was the best part!
