If you want to get a broader picture of Bali and learn more about the Hindu religion, the local heritage and the authentic Balinese way of life, this tour is for you!
On this tour we will take you to a unique destination on the island, outside of the usual tourist area, where you'll get to see some of Bali's best kept secrets. You'll visit Pura Kehen, the main temple of the former Bangli kingdom (constructed in the 800s to the early 1000s) that has some of the most intricate stone carvings and workmanship you’ll see at any temple in Bali.
The day will start with a private pickup direct from your hotel in Bali from one of our friendly, English-speaking guides who will be your driver, tour guide and entertainer for the day! The day's highlights include:
- Learn about authentic Balinese Heritage at Penglipuran Traditional Village
- Walk around a sacred bamboo forest
- Spend time with a local farmer on a rice field

Kehen Temple
Kehen Temple is an ancient Hindu temple complex that has unique architectural features. The temple courtyard is reachable from the roadside and up 38 flights of stairs. Carved sandstone statues depicting mythical animals and Balinese folklore figures adorn the staircases and the central vestibule. The temple’s walls are also ornate with porcelain plates, harking back to the historical relationship between the local Balinese kingdom and China. ** Includes approximate drive time
Penglipuran Village
Penglipuran village is a beautiful highland village in the regency of Bangli in East Bali, best known for its well-preserved layout and culture. While most of its residents have embraced modernity, its individual compounds are well-kept to look traditional. Manicured gardens line the single stone-paved street that runs through the centre of the village toward the local temple, and age-old arched entrance gates and walls conceal each house. ** Includes approximate drive time

5.00The scenery was unreal, the bamboo forest felt like a scene out of a movie, and every cultural stop added something special to the day. Our guide was super chill and made everything easy and fun. Definitely a highlight of our Bali trip!

5.00We took a tour from Kuta to Kehen Temple, Pengilipuran Village, a coffee farm, the rice terasses near Ubud and an extra stop at a wood carver. We can highly recommend the tour, Forever Vacation and - most of all - our guide Sutha. Sutha told us a lot about Bali's culture, history and the life on the island. It was great fun and Sutha was really great with our son, who loved him. Thanks a lot! We hope to return and take another tour with Sutha.

5.00If the title doesn’t already explain it, ASK FOR SUGARA!! Talk about a humble tour guide that just enjoyed spending time with us. He was on time, paid attention to us, optimized our itinerary, took pictures and so much more. I’ve never had such a truly amazing tour experience than the one I had here with Sugara at Forever Vacations. For starters, he is extremely knowledgeable about Balinese and Hindu culture but he’s also had an opportunity to have visited many places so he truly understood us. He was very patient and did not rush us one bit. Best of all, he really just knew when to give us space and when to get involved. His natural instincts, hospitality, and knowledge made him the best tour guide I’ve experienced in my life!

5.00Bali has a green and beautiful nature, there are many places that are still preserved, we are grateful to enjoy it during the holiday in Bali. We don't forget to say thank you very much to Alit as our tour guide, the many cultural lessons we got from him were really amazing. Really recommended.

5.00If you want a chill tour with a relaxing itinerary but also learning a lot… this is the tour for you. Mr. G (Gandhi) our tour guide took us to the world famous village, temples and waterfalls to learn about the Balinese culture. We also got to taste some Balinese coffee and herbal drink, it was definitely interesting. The tour is completely private so the tour guide will go at your own pace, so there was no rushing and you could absolutely skip a spot or stay at a location longer. Highly recommend!

5.00We were pleasantly surprised with our tour. Forever Vacations gave us Hendy to be our guide that day. We felt relived and confident what the tour promised for us to be on time to the cruise ship. We enjoyed the tour a lot. Visiting Kehen temple, Panglipuran Village, Bamboo Forest and Mount Batur. Having Balinese coffee, talking to the locals in one of the cleanest town in the world was one of a kind experience. It was indeed special, Hendy made it happen.

5.00We did the heritage and cultural tour with our teenagers. Right from the start Wayne was excellent in both communication and energy. The transport was very good (including the driving on these mad roads - thanks to Mr G) for doing that. We loved the temple and the coffee bean plantation. The tour is well paced and you are not rushed. If you want to see some of the small villages and local it's a good tour for this. But like all trips it's the guides that make it work - thanks again to Wayne and Mr G.
