Water Great Wall at Huanghuacheng

The Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall is located in Jiuduhe Town, Huairou District, Beijing, 80 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. It was first built in the second year of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1404) and completed in the 20th year of Wanli (1592), taking a total of 188 years. This section of the Great Wall is 12.4 kilometers long and is the essence of the Ming Great Wall. It is not only the northern gateway to guard the capital but also an important gateway to protect the Ming "Thirteen Tombs". You can either choose to take a boat tour around Haoming Lake to closely observe the Great Wall in the water, or hike up the Great Wall to experience its grandeur and perilousness. You can also take the winding mountain plank road to circle the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the scenic area from all angles.

We had a great trip to the Huanghua Cheng 水长城 part of the Great Wall. Coordinating with the driver was easy, he was friendly and helpful, and had amazing knowledge of Chinese history. The wall itself surrounds a beautiful lake and had plenty of amenities. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this Great Wall tour! The English-speaking guide was very knowledgeable and understanding, and the hike was great. I was picked up early, so we avoided the crowds. I had the wall for myself for most of the hike, which was an amazing experience.

Tina was very accommodating. She speaks great English, and was very flexible when we sent her the wrong hotel address for pickup. She also carried extra large umbrellas which was very nice when it was raining on the Great Wall. Highly recommended for any tour around Beijing!

As my husband and I can speak some Chinese we opted for just a private driver. We asked for a sunrise layover tour and our driver Alice came promptly at 5am. We made it to Huanghua Cheng safely and on time. She was excellent and gave us as much time as we wanted to take photos. She also took us to a restaurant to taste dongbei food and that was not even included in the tour but she stopped for us. The ride was comfortable and we felt safe for the whole time. The driver was polite and very nice to us. I would recommend Linda's service to anyone who wants a tour to the great Wall!
