Welcome to the Troll Museum in Bergen - the largest museum in Norway dedicated entirely to trolls and fairy tales. Centrally located in Bergen city, we aim to bring you closer to the magic of Norwegian folk beliefs and the creatures that populate them. Our museum is a unique blend of detailed handmade art, traditional storytelling, and modern digital technologies. The exhibits incorporate augmented reality features that superimpose moving elements and sound on the art you can see. In addition, the museum is equipped with immersive technologies and interactive elements, all of which expand on the physical exhibit and bring you further into the world of fairy tales. This translates into a unique museum experience where you can dip your toes into Norwegian folklore and discover how the idea of trolls has changed over time. The museum also has a number of board games and creativity zones where you can have some fun, as well as a small library stocked with books of fairy tales.

5.00Great experience, enjoyed by our group of 6. Exceeded our expectations, and this group of seniors were so impressed by the interactive area set up for children that we spent at least 45 minutes playing and having fun.

5.00We had a blast at the Troll Museum. On the day we visited there were no kids but every adult seemed to have so much fun that it felt like we were kids again. The augmented reality technology really draws you in to the experience. The hands on exhibits are engaging and varied. The interactive nature of the whole museum is wonderful. Plus, there is so much history and information presented that it would take a few visits to grasp it all. If you want a fun time that is also educational - this is the place for you.

5.00Really fun, interesting, and engaging. Learned a lot about Norwegian folklore. A great place to bring your kids as there are a lot of activities for them. I would suggest not going too late towards closing time if you want to use the audio headset in addition to reading all the information as it could take longer than an hour or two.

3.00Disappointing! Ice-cold welcome by a lady barking at us. The museum is interesting, but very dense. The offer is family oriented, which can create a strong noise nuisance.

5.00This very lovingly decorated museum is definitely worth seeing. You learn a lot about the origin of the trolls and their history. It offers interactive opportunities for children, but also cheers up adults. It is highly recommended.

5.00Really enjoyed our visit, there's so much information to take it, almost too much, but you can read or listen to as much as you desire. You can use your phone to get an audio guide (see pick) There's a lot of interactive/ digital activities to immerse yourself in, it really is fun. Take your time to explore it all, it's worth it.
