  Really fun, interesting, and engaging. Learned a lot about Norwegian folklore. A great place to bring your kids as there are a lot of activities for them. I would suggest not going too late towards closing time if you want to use the audio headset in addition to reading all the information as it could take longer than an hour or two.

  Although some interesting displays, not everything was working. The cost was too high. There was an out of control school group running around, without any attempt to control them.

  Disappointing! Ice-cold welcome by a lady barking at us. The museum is interesting, but very dense. The offer is family oriented, which can create a strong noise nuisance.

  This very lovingly decorated museum is definitely worth seeing. You learn a lot about the origin of the trolls and their history. It offers interactive opportunities for children, but also cheers up adults. It is highly recommended.

  Really enjoyed our visit, there's so much information to take it, almost too much, but you can read or listen to as much as you desire. You can use your phone to get an audio guide (see pick) There's a lot of interactive/ digital activities to immerse yourself in, it really is fun. Take your time to explore it all, it's worth it.

  So much fun! This was an interactive museum that had a lot of information in multiple languages about the history of trolls in Norway. The exhibits were highly interactive. In fact there w were mirrors that could transform you into a troll. The information shared about the artist, writers and musicians who created works about. Trolls was very interesting. I highly recommend me this museum!

  We (2 adults + 1 child 12 years) were traveling with the ship and have docked here. Of course we also visited the Trollmuseum. The ladies at the reception were super friendly. The museum tells many fairy tales and legends from Norway. Not only about trolls, but also about other legendary characters. Much is also interactive. It's really fun.

  Troll culture at its finest! We discovered this museum when we walked past it half a block from our Airbnb on a wet, blustery day in Bergen and decided to go in for a look. If you’ve traveled in Norway, you know trolls are an important and well-loved feature of the country’s folklore and mythology. The colorful Troll Museum in Bergen is full of exhibits delightfully constructed and designed to enchant both children and adults alike. There are plenty of interactive features, dioramas, miniatures, digital screens, and a playroom for kids. My favorite was the living room with a giant digital troll peering in the windows! The museum gives a great deal of comprehensive information about many Norwegian artists including fairy tale illustrator Theodor Kittelsen. As a side note, it was exciting to read about him here, then later travel to Oslo and view his 1881 original painting of “The Sea Monster” in the National Museum. Care has been taken to present well-made exhibits, and it shows. I would recommend this museum to anyone visiting Bergen, with or without kids, and even on a sunny day! Tip: they sell the best troll postcards (including Theodor Kittelsen Sea Monsters) we saw anywhere in Bergen. Or Norway! Our grands loved them. Bergen Tips: Bergen is a beautiful and charming Norwegian city well worth more time than just a ferry or cruise ship stop. Hotels and Airbnbs are readily available close to the town center, Bryggen. If staying in town, everything (mostly) is walkable and you will not need a rental car. Having said that, on a previous trip to Norway we did have a rental car and were able to experience much more of the country. Head outside the city center or ask locals for advice on restaurants-those close to the wharf are expensive tourist traps. Except for our favorite hotdog stand!
