Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara
This temple is the site of an enormous pagoda, originally 280 feet high, and was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. At one time, Wat Chedi Luang housed the revered Emerald Buddha image now enshrined in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew. One of Wat Chedi Luang’s most striking architectural features is a magnificent Naga staircase adorns the chapel’s front.

5.00Temple tour with Som and our driver Mr. B was everything we asked for. A relaxed private tour at a reasonable pace. Ms. Som knew the history of everything we asked about. The dates, the names, etc. And she was so fun and engaging. It was just the wife and I this time but we’ll have to come back with our adult children next time.
