Tucked away in a little visited corner of Europe lie Albania, is a charming and delightful country that few people know much about. For years Albania was a closed society, ruled by the iron fist of Communism, but since the end of the Cold War it has been showing curious travellers its many charms, The location of Albania between some of Europe’s most important empires has left them well endowed with a wealth of attractions from the Greek, Roman and Ottoman eras. The region is home to a wealth of old Turkish architecture which sits side by side with elaborately decorated Orthodox churches and from more recent times the civic buildings of Communist era, as well as impressive Roman ruins and well preserved historic towns. This part of Europe is also blessed with incredible scenery with imposing mountains, pristine lakes and traditional villages tucked away in pretty valleys.

Albania is very beautiful and our tour guide Arber and Saimir Ismaili are both very awesome. We had the best experiences ever. They both took us to different places full of histories. We hope to return in the future. Great restaurants with delicious food , fresh vegetables and fruits. Oh....pastries and coffee shops everywhere. Oh I forgot to mention the beautiful old churches and the icons. Did you know that Mother Teresa from Albania? Thank you Arber and Saimir for the wonderful experiences you gave us.

Our first trip using Exoticca tours and our first trip to Albania. We really enjoyed the tour, the itinerary was a good blend of town & cities, countryside and coast. There is a lot of very interesting history which our friendly guide, Simeer Ishmali, was able to explain. Simeir kept us well to time so that the tour ran smoothly. We had an excellent driver throughout. We enjoyed the food and some great scenery.

I had a wonderful time touring the country of Albania with this company. I solo traveled to Albania from the Unites States but immediately felt part of the group once the tour began. We all treated each other as family practically. Our group was led by two wonderful guides, Saimir Ismaeli for 6 days and Arber for 2 days. In that 8 days of travel, the tour group visited many amazing sites and towns, including Kruje, Shkodre, Durres, Berat, Apollonia, Vlore, Butrint, Sarande, Girogastre, Korce, Pogradec, Elbasan, and Tirane. I was thoroughly impressed with the vast amount of knowledge and experience that our tour guides had. They strived to make this trip's experience both fun and educational, and it was! A very memorable trip!! The people of Albania are welcoming. The country's natural landscape is absolutely beautiful--mountains, seas, rivers, lakes, etc. And the food...just delicious! This country really deserves to be experienced by more people. I would not have been able to create such a wonderful trip on my own. This was put together by people who knew well the logistics involved in taking this type of a road trip throughout an entire nation. It was lovely to sit back, relax, and enjoy. Thank you Albania Explorer, Exoticca, Saimir, and Arber for the trip of a lifetime!
