Acropolis
We start the tour by visiting the so called “sacred rock”, The Acropolis. Here you will see: - Parthenon that was dedicated to goddess Athena (Parthenos) - Propylea, the monumental entrance to the sacred area - The Temple of Athena Nike which was dedicated to Athena-Nike - The Erechtheion with its famous female figures-statues - The Caryatides or Maidens dedicated to both goddess Athena and god Poseidon - The Odeum of Herodus Atticus - The the Theatre of Dionysus, the first theatre in the whole world - The Areopagus (Mars Hill)
Temple of Olympian Zeus
The temple of Olympian Zeus (124-132 AD) had three rows of eight columns (tripteral octastyle) on the two narrow sides and two rows of twenty columns (dipteral eikosastyle) on the long sides. It once housed the chryselephantine (gold and ivory) statue of Zeus and the statue of the emperor. Sixteen of the temple's columns survive today, thirteen of them, on the east side, intact. Of the remaining three on the west side, one collapsed in 1852.

5.00Mario took us to all the sights we wanted to see and he had a few surprises for us. He was on time, nice modern van so we can get good view during driving. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. Found us a nice place for lunch. Highly recommend this full day tour.

5.00We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful guide. George picked us (a group of 9) up at the port and drove us around Athens and showed us the sites. He is a wonderful story teller and full of interesting facts. For lunch he took us to a little neighborhood where we had the most fabulous lunch. Nikos and his team were great to work with prior to booking the tour and were very responsive with all of my questions. I highly recommend this company.

5.00We had a fantastic day with Domenic as our guide who was incredibly knowledgeable and super funny. We did all the main sights and he also suggested the fabulous Arcadia restaurant for our lunch. He picked us up from our cruise and dropped us at the airport for our flights out of Athens and it was all very easy and efficient. We were with friends and it made for a very fun day out. We would all highly recommend using this company for a wonderful day of sightseeing in Athens.

5.00We had an amazing private tour in Greece with Yannis as our driver and guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about Athens, and made the entire experience unforgettable. Even though we ran out of time, he remained patient and continued sharing fascinating history lessons throughout the tour. I especially loved learning about the Acropolis, the Greek gods, and even the history behind the soldiers’ uniforms — including the huge amount of fabric used to make their skirts! We also witnessed the changing of the guard at Syntagma Square, which was such a memorable experience. The comfortable Mercedes bus with excellent air conditioning was also a huge plus, especially on such a very hot day on April 26th. Yannis truly brought the history of Athens to life, and his enthusiasm made the tour even more special. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Greece!

5.00Nikos from the beginning was extremely responsive in answering questions and making the whole booking process easy and seamless. The morning of Dominik was waiting at the front door of our hotel right on time and picked us up. He took us to some of the most amazing places and was very knowledgeable about every one of them. Very personable and by the end of the tour he was very flexible with the entire schedule and dropped us off at a nice little dinner place recommended by him. I would not only recommend PGT but Nikos and Dominik also! Great experience we loved it!

5.00We booked a two day Athens tour with Nikos at Private Greece Tours. Spyros was our driver/guide. He was AMAZING. Private Greece Tours was all inclusive, from picking us up at the airport, meeting us at our hotel for the tour, dropping at the ship for our cruise, picking us up after our cruise and taking us back to the airport. Nikos and team made it so seamless and easy, and they added huge value to our visit to Greece. The tour of Athens and the surrounding areas was spectacular. We saw all of the highlights and Spyros made it so easy because he is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to navigate the parking and traffic so our time was maximized! On the second day, we decided to go to Meteroa to see the monasteries. It was a very long day, but was definitely the highlight of the trip. Spyros stopped along the way, and we visited Thermopylae - saw the battle site and the hot springs. Meteroa is a must see when in the Athens area! Spyros picked us up from the Cruise and we spent a half day in Corinth, saw Ancient Corinth and the Corinth Canal. After the tour, Spyros took us to our hotel so we could fly out the next morning. What is amazing about Private Greece Tours, is their attention to detail about planning your tour. Spyros was with us the entire time, so there was familiarity and comfort that we were being taken care of for our entire trip. I highly recommend Private Greece Tours and hopefully you will get Spyros as your guide/driver!

5.00Nikos and his company, Private Greece Tours were very EXCELLENT/EXCEPTIONAL to work with, helpful suggestions, arrange and very flexible on the 2 tours we did. The personal drivers were very good, personable and very knowledgeable and efficient getting to the various sites we wanted to go to. We also used them for the transfers of airport to hotel and hotel to cruise port and both were very good. I would definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND them again to everyone.🤗👍
