  We splurged for the VIP dinner and concert and were not disappointed. The view from the fortress of both the city and the mountains was spectacular. We had a perfect table next to the window and was able to enjoy the mountain scenery. The concert was also wonderful. We sat in the second row and felt like we were a part of the ensemble.   I read the reviews and it seemed like the best option was Golden VIP and our experience confirmed it. The food was amazing (I don’t like creamy soups but the white wine soup was excellent). We were provided a drink to start, a bottle of wine for dinner, coffee or tea during dessert and prosecco during the concert intermission. And the concert!!! I expected a solid performance but it was better than expected. The music was played perfectly and the little moments of humor really completed the show. As for the heat, yes it gets pretty warm during the concert so be prepared to lose your jacket and stand by the windows during the intermission.

  We had a fantastic evening at the fortress and concert! The ticket (84€) included the fortress cable car, the 3 course dinner at the fortress restaurant with a view of the city and mountains, and of course the fantastic concert. The concert was a one of a kind experience held in the fantastic Golden Hall of the fortress. (Watch out, you’ll have to climb stairs!) The atmosphere and acoustics were amazing. The staff was friendly. The dinner crowd was not as big as the concert crowd. We had booked the normal admission ticket and were sat in the last (10th row), but were still fully immersed in the experience! This experience is best for music lovers who appreciate a special experience and are able to walk up stairs.

  A highlight of our trip! The concert was amazing! The setting was incredible! We enjoyed the relaxed dinner before the concert.

  This is a good experience combining a dinner with a concert, but I would not recommend buying the Golden VIP dinner package. If you get a Salzburg pass, you would get the ride up the fortress for free and you could get a dinner anywhere else for much less. Mozart concerts are all over the city at a much better price. It doesn't make a difference if you sit in the first three rows for the concert (the Golden VIP ticket) or a regular ticket that started the row behind. There are only 8-10 rows of chairs, it's a standard room size. At the dinner we were seated next to other couple who had a regular dinner and that made us uncomfortable, as their selection was limited. During dinner, the veal meat was hard. Also, only one person had a view of the mountain panorama, the other one was facing the door, it wasn't at all like in the advertised picture. So, overall I would not recommend buying the Golden VIP package, it doesn't deliver for that big price.

  We enjoyed the best of Mozart concert and VIP dinner at Fortress Hohensalzburg. The ambience is amazing! The views of Salzburg are breathing! The concert was incredible! The dinner had beautiful ambience, however the food was mediocre and the service was slow. We arrived early we wanted to explore the fortress, however they sat us 45 minutes early (which would have been okay- but it took a very long time to get food. ( we were one of the first people in and one of the last people to leave). A recommendation is to explore the fortress prior to checking in for dinner. The concert starts promptly at 800pm.I loved this package because it not only gave us, concert, dinner and a chance to explore the fortress- it also offers a ride on the Fortress Funicular ( which takes you up and down the side of the hill. ) All in all I highly recommend this adventure when visiting Salzburg

  Dinner overpriced & not very good. Quite a bit of confusion regarding tickets & seating. We purchased the basic dinner of the turkey, which did not have much taste. Initially, our waiter thought that was had purchased the more expensive meal & was very attentive. Once the error was realized, he pretty much ignored us. Concert was good. However there was a charge for the program
