Two ways to activate tickets: 1. Download and open the Big Bus app. Tap "Add Booking" and enter your booking reference. On the day of travel, open your ticket and press "Activate" then show your activated ticket to the driver at any stop along the route. Plus, use the app for route information and live bus tracking. 2. Redeem voucher and activate with Big Bus staff at Stop #1 - Chicago Riverwalk - 98 E. Wacker Drive (on the corner of Michigan and Wacker), or with any driver at any stop along the route.

4.00Fun tour guide. Weather was def a bummer but the partly covered top deck was helpful! Seats were SO cold but that’s no one’s fault, Appreciated the hop on/off convenience. Cleaner windows would be helpful.

1.00I take these tours in every city. This was the worst by far. Workers were rude. They didn’t have enough headphones.

5.00I wish I could remember our drivers name on 12/22/25 at 5pm, but she was so sweet and made a “courtesy stop” for us so that we didn’t have to walk as far. Everyone is so polite.

5.00Had a blast… Dorthy who was working the Navy Pier stop on Saturday December 20th was especially kind and courteous. She had us in stitches the entire 30 min wait. Kudos to BigBus for hiring such great staff who go above and beyond to their customers.

1.00We were in Chicago on a wedding anniversary trip and bought tickets. Due to an emergency, we couldn't use the tickets and asked for a refund. It took them about 6 emails to tell me they would only give me a 25% refund since we "redeemed" the tickets. We activated but never used them. Their response was that it's the same thing. Additionally, on the day we were planning to use them, there was absolutely no way for us to contact any live person to ask questions or explain our situation. I will never do business with them again.

1.00We've done hop on hop off buses in other cities. Just did one in Philadelphia by this same company 2 months ago. Philadelphia was great. 90 minutes long, over 20 stops, great commentary by a living guide who answers questions. In contrast, Chicago is 2hrs long, 11 stops, commentary on an audio guide. The audio tour wasn't very interesting. It didn't help that it was difficult to adjust the volume...too loud when music played, then too quiet for the information. Or loud enough to hear the commentary then the music was too loud. We rode it about 30 minutes and got off. Waste of money.
