  Big Mike is the owner/operator and his wife Khristina is the brains of the operation(as told by big Mike!! lol) Big Mike was informative, funny, and a great driver. The van was comfortable with air conditioning and easy for most people to enter and exit. We learned some Hawaiian legends, some new Hawaiian words, viewed great scenery, and met great people along the way. Mike took us for our lunch to a local small restaurant that had tasty food, and because we were not on a large tour bus, Mike could take us to more of the local scenery where he grew up with waterfalls and fishing holes that the larger tour buses cannot access. We saw and toured the lava tube. You must go up and down stairs to get there. It’s very cool. Big Mike will use your phones and help you take pictures. Kilauea was windy, hot, rainy, and cold all at the same time. Bring ponchos! Rainforest along the way is beautiful and Mike will stop and point out birds and plants and tell you the story of where the name of this company came from. It’s a beautiful story and ties into the leis that his wife makes for their patrons. You’ll learn a little history about Hilo, see some magnificent Banyan trees, waterfalls, etc. Highly, Highly recommend.

  Big Mike with Lehua Tours was an excellent guide who was born and raised on the island. He was very knowledgeable, his vehicle was immaculate, and had a great personality which made the tour both informative and fun. I highly recommend him and his company.

  Big Mike was great. Very knowledgeable about history, plants and volcano. Took us to a locally owned small sandwich shop that was included with the tour and was very good. His wife made everyone a lei. Was very much worth the money. Great time. Only negative was the volcano didn't co-operate and erupt (ha ha ha) Did smoke a bunch. Thank you Big Mike for a great day

  We had a great trip me with Big Mike. He was very accommodating with some delays with our ship to ensure we could enjoy the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about the island and gave a great presentation throughout the tour!

  If I could give 10 stars, I would. Big Mike is such a gift and is so knowledgeable and energetically shares so much information and history! We brought our two children, ages 12 and 9, and they thoroughly enjoyed so much. The sights and views were incredible. We enjoyed every minute including the very intimate and thoughtful “small” things like the beautiful lei’s handmade by Mike and his wife, the samples of chocolate covered macadamia nuts, beautiful slides/pictures, and perfectly timed music! Book now- it will be the highlight of your trip too!

  We had an amazing experience with Lehua Tours! Big Mike, the owner and operator, was an incredible tour guide and an even better person. From the moment we arrived and were welcomed the real Hawaiian way with leis, he made the entire experience feel authentic, personal, and unforgettable. You can tell he truly cares about sharing the culture, history, and spirit of Hawaii, not just giving a standard tour. His energy, knowledge, and genuine personality turned the day into a real adventure instead of just another excursion.   We took this trip with Big Mike yesterday! He was super knowledgeable about all the history and culture surrounding the big island and Hawaii in general. He took us to a lot of cool spots at the national park, took pictures for me and my friends, and was super accommodating to his guests. 10/10 absolutely would do it again!

  We took this tour with Big Mike today ( owner/operator) Big Mike picked us up at the Hilo port where our cruise ship ,Pride Of American, docked. No Uber or taxi needed! He was prompt, his van was impeccably clean, and he gifted each one in our group a beautiful handmade eyelash lei. Big Mike knows his stuff, he schooled us on history, flora and fauna. We visited the Volcano Park , Rainbow Falls plus another "hidden" waterfall, sea turtles, black sand beaches, King Kamehameha statue, farmers market. We had lunch at an amazing restaurant that I think only locals know about Big Mike is funny and obviously passionate about his Island. The tour was worth every cent and after conferring with other cruise guests, much better. Do not miss out!
