We will pick you up at your accommodation in downtown of Panama City to go by car to the Chagres river, highlighting several points of interest on the way there, where we will take a boat and get into the Panama Canal. We will pass by huge ships and experience the scale and importance of this magnificent marvel of engineering. Inside the Canal, at the Gatun Lake, we will arrive at a group of islands in a protected area in order to see as many species of animals as possible, among them monkeys, crocodiles, birds, iguanas, sloths and others. You will identify animals and develop your vision to spot them. This is an extraordinary and memorable experience, completely outdoors and that you will enjoy a lot! Note: This tour is going outdoors (jungle and a lake) therefore there is not access to a toilet, it is suggested to use the bathroom before pick up time that will be informed the night before the tour.

This was a very enjoyable half day tour driving how to Gamboa, hopping on a boat and heading to the islands through the Panama Canal. We saw many monkeys who climbed a board, our boat, as well as a sloth that came down low to give us a show. From start to finish, plan 4 to 5 hours, depending on how many hotel pickups there are. Alejandro was our guide and did a great job.

Our guide, Fernando, and the boat driver were amazing at seeing animals. The found us many groups of monkeys, some that climbed on our boat and laps which was a very fun surprise. They found egrets, turtles, toucans, a sloth, and even a lizard in a tree. We had searched on our own for days and found nothing. Fernando was very knowledgeable about the Panama Canal and answered all our questions. Well worth the money and would do again.

Our driver drove 45 minutes to the canal for our boat ride yet REFUSED TO TALK ABOUT THE SITES ON THE WAY !!! I had to ask him, "is this the panama canal on out left"...oh yes !! I had to ask "what are theses barracks or housing" oh-it used to be our armys; now its offices. he totally sucked !! he told boat driver he had to be back earlier than was planned NOT COOL !! first monkey site to see monkeys were only "OK"; there were 2-3 in a tree.( they eat only leaves so did not come to us; I understand) third site NO monkeys seen at all. The 2nd site however was GREAT!!! until after 8 minutes the tour guide told the boat driver to leave. this 2nd site was great! yet he "moved us along rapidly" so we could go to the third site where there was NOTHING!! Why did we have to leave to go to another site when there was ZERO guarentte we'd see monkeys? we were all happy----until he told drive to leave !!

Super cool being on water with tankers. Saw wildlife including 3 kinds of monkeys!! Tour guide was really informative and taught us a lot.

Being in the Panama Canal amongst large cargo ships was an exciting experience. We got to see some monkeys but no sloths. It was a rainy day so the animals were hiding. Overall, it was a good experience. There was little knowledge shared about the canal and how it is operated.

Fantastic trip - it was the highlight of our time in Panama not to be missed, we were picked up at our hotel and dropped back - monkey came onto our boat and travelled up close to cargo ships - don’t think twice you will not be disappointed

I heard about the tour from another couple here in Panamá. They also recommended that we book with Tripadvisor. It was a very easy process. Our driver/tour guide was prompt with our pickup and was excellent at spotting and attracting the monkeys towards us. The monkeys were truly the most interesting of the species we saw and were very friendly. I highly recommend this tour for anyone of all ages.

It was smooth and informative. The boat captain knew how to ride the big boat swells and find the animals before the other boats ! The tour guide was personable and friendly.

Ricardo was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and showed us everything. Best part was monkey island. We saw monkeys, sloths and lots of birds.
