Fireflies are familiar, but few realize that these insects are actually beetles, nocturnal members of the family Lampyridae. Most fireflies are winged, which distinguishes them from other luminescent insects of the same family, commonly known as glowworms.
Experience the glow and the very interesting row of the boat us to embark on a private firefly watching cruise in Bohol, it will took like 2 to 4 hours experience in the fireflies area. (And enjoy a fresh,Organic dinner at the Bohol Bee Farm for select packages only). Relax and see the fireflies glow in the dark while cruising along mangroves of the Abatan River. You may see five or more trees that is being inhabited by the Fireflies.
Dont forget to bring your camera and make sure it is good in the dark shots.

Abatan River
Hop on a boat to watch fireflies slowly fill the night sky with their iridescent glow in the Abatan River in Bohol. If you’re looking for a relaxing activity to cap off your day in the province, then this late afternoon escapade is definitely worth booking. Your assigned driver will pick you up at your resort or hotel in Panglao or Tagbilaran city proper. Once everyone is all set, you will proceed to the boat dock, where your Bandong, a traditional boat, is waiting for you. You can also opt to take the kayak for an additional fee if you prefer a one-on-one experience with only you and the guide on board. Life jackets will be provided to keep the activity safe.

5.00Very nice experience. I recommend it. I was on a night that there was so much darkness and this permitted to see the fireflies. The trees were just like Christmas trees next to the river. Also, the sky was soooo perfect! I have never seen soo many stars in the last 3 years. I have seen them in my Country but in Manila it is impossible. I loved it. Very peaceful. Just notice that there is no good camera for this. Due to the darkness , the experience is for your eyes only.
