The vehicle is an Eli Zero (depending on availabilities). 100% electric and charged with solar panels. Those fun cars are electric with an automatic transmission and it is easy to drive. The vehicle has an autonomy of 60 - 90 km depending on the way of driving. The Eli Zero is a closed car with AC, 2 seats are side by side and the autonomy is shorter especially with the AC on (approx. 60km). The autonomy also depends on the way you drive, we cannot ensure that the battery will last the all duration of the rental. It is the responsibility of the customer to manage the battery life as managing gasoline level with thermal car. We do offer free charging in our office or can offer a vehicle switch when it's possible depending on availabilities. The island is small (32 km tour) and if you drive gently you should be able to make 3 tours of the island (only 2 with AC) without charging. The size of the vehicle makes it easy to stop anywhere on the island. It also provides all the security necessary with airbag and disc brakes. The included map will show you where you can stop to visit famous sites, american canons from the second world war, endemic trees, etc. Departures of hikes to climb the mountains of Bora Bora and reach amazing point of views. 2.00Chaotic start at Avis. Long lines. Pouring rain did not help. Finally got to the counter. Even though we have reservation for three of the cars, they rented one of them out while we were standing in line… Therefore, once we finally did get our paperwork done, they had to drive one of our folks to the other end of the island to pick up a third car…. We had rented little fun vehicles in Hawaii, which the rental place provided us Google Maps with highlights of the island… This did not happen in Bora Bora… Just overall a very disappointing experience.

1.00There is not much to do on the Island of Bora Bora. After being at the Westin Resort Bora Bora, the island didnt really have anything to offer. The main city is small with a lot of people. The Pearls look fantastic however, any jewelery costs over $1500 USD. The stuff you really want is more like $6500.00 USD and up. We had the small electric fun car for the whole day, until 4:30 pm. We left the Westin at 8:30 am and received our car by 9:15 am. The island is ~ 31 km around it. Even after looking at pearls, we ended up taking the 12:45 pm boat back to the Westin. The postive aspect is that the Avis folks were great! The small electric fun car was easy to use and fun to drive.

5.00Avis picked us up at our hotel and took us to the car. It worked well and was fun to drive around and explore the island at your own pace. Even though it is small you still had enough room in it plus a small boot to put your stuff. It had air conditioning as well. Super fun little car.

4.00Avis customer service waited on locals first and did not give priority to advance payment and reservations. We had to be driven to the other side of the island to pick up car. It was not returned to port. So threw a glitch in plans, not a nice 1 time around. Actually 2

4.00We were on a cruise through French Polynesia with friends, and two of the couples rented these little electric cars to explore the island of Bora Bora. The cars were small, but fine (even for me at 6’2”) and fun to drive. We were very grateful for the air conditioning because it was a pretty warm day. We didn’t have any problems with the range of the vehicles, which was a good thing. We drove all the way around the island (all 20 miles) and stopped at the beach for a bit. We enjoyed lunch at Le Gecko and enjoyed the views. The only issue is that there isn’t a whole lot to see from the road in the island of Bora Bora. All the hotels are on the surrounding motus. Still the island is beautiful and the trip was fun.

5.00The perfect car for the island tour. It has also AC, easy to drive, good authonomy, it was clean. The girl from Avis was nice.
