Kia Ora! Waiheke Island is a small island in the Hauraki Gulf and as such must be reached by ferry from downtown Auckland. There are two main ferry companies that service the island: ISLAND DIRECT Island Direct is the locals choice and the one that we advise you use to book your return ferry journey. We would advise that you promptly book your ferry now that you have confirmed your WOW Tour with us. Using the same date as your WOW Tour booking - please book the 9:15am Auckland to Waiheke and the 4:20pm return. You can book Island Direct online. We highly recommend you book your ferry tickets early and with Island Direct. This way you are guaranteed a seat and only need to arrive to Island Direct's Pier 13 up to 10 mins before the ferry departure time. Island Direct also have a ticketing machine next to Pier 13.
FULLERS FERRY SERICE Should Island Direct be unavailable or you prefer to use Fullers, you can book tickets online. There are also numerous ticketing machines at the Downtown Ferry Terminal. To meet with our tour we advise that you are on the 9:00am Fullers departure from Auckland. Please be aware that Fullers operate on a first come, first served basis and that arriving at least 60 minutes prior to departure time is highly advised. In peak season the queues for Fullers can be very long so please give yourself plenty of time.

5.00Our group of 4 have been lucky to do food and wine tours around the world. This tour is as good as we’ve done anywhere! Our thoughtful and knowledgeable host, Joe, took care of every detail delivering us to places many tourists to Waiheke miss. Great food, great wine tastings and an amazing gin & vodka tasting experience.

5.00Joe was so down-to-earth and welcoming. I felt at ease straight away and pumped for the day. He knows the region inside out and took us to vineyards and hidden gems most tours miss. The stories, history, and laughs made it a personal, unforgettable day — he really shows the real ‘wow’ of the place.

5.00Waiheke is already gorgeous, but Joe showed us hidden spots we’d never have found ourselves. From quiet beaches to little vineyards, the stories and history made it so much more than a normal tour. Really gave us a proper taste of the region and the real ‘wow’ moments

5.00This tour was the highlight of our trip to New Zealand. The wineries, olive oil farm, and the gin/vodka establishment were superb. The view from the gin/vodka tasting was amazing. A small (in our case 4 people) tour showed us off the beaten path to places that Joe particularly enjoyed. Joe was kind enough to limit the tour to 4 people, as our friends son expressed his love of New Zealand and wanted to move there, but unfortunately has passed away, Therefore, this trip to New Zealand was a tribute to their son.

5.00This was a magical experience. Everything was 5 stars from our host, Joe, to the vineyards and transportation. The forecast predicted some wind and rain, so we dressed accordingly. Although not a typical summer day, it was still perfect. Joe was a fantastic historian and most gracious host. Was nice to start with bread and olive oil before moving on to gin, vodka & wine. I never knew I liked gin & tonic, until I had it at Waiheke Diistilling Co. The only thing better than the gin, vodka, and food there was the breathtaking view. Jasper Ridge was our third spot. Our host there was generous and pleasant. The wine was some of the best we’ve ever had and it was nice to try the same wine from different seasons (rainy vs. dry). At lunch they had a table facing the ocean for us. I had the best onion rings of my entire life. Skip the crowded mega bus tours and treat yourself to this more intimate experience. You will NOT regret it. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again next time we are in the area. Perfection!

5.00If you want to get a taste of local Waiheke olive oil AND wine AND gin this is the tour you need to take! I found Joe to be an amazing guide - he's friendly and professional, and most importantly he has local knowledge of Waiheke Island as someone who lives there himself. The tour he provides gets you away from the crowds, and as well as the amazing variety of tastings he organises, you get to see some breathtaking views, and enjoy some great cuisine in a beautiful location. Thanks Joe for providing a great day out on Waiheke Island!

5.00From pickup to dropoff, Joe was an incredible host and a wonderful ambassador for his fellow businessfolk on Waiheke Island. We thoroughly enjoyed the mix of tastings: olive oil, vodka/gin, and wine. The fact that the tour included lunch at a scenic restaurant took it all over the top. An additional plus is that Joe took us to the far side of the island--the less-visited place that made all our visits feel much more personal, since we weren't sharing them with tons of people (though hopefully, that will change in the future to benefit the businesses that chose to be a little distant from the tourist hub). Would highly recommend this tour. It's an incredible value for the money and Joe is a great choice as its host.
