We had a great time here at the Britannia Mine Museum, with a lot of information and different exhibits. It included rooms with mining equipment, as well as informing us on the history of the mines. There was also a very fun gold finding area, with pans and sand, showing how a lot of people in the olden days would try to find gold. The real star of the show, however, was the tour and boom show. We had the best tour guide ever, who kept us engaged throughout. We ended the day with a boom show, which was entertaining, keeping even the youngest of us captivated. Highly recommended!

Definitely recommend this tour. Totally blown away with the museums, the train/mine tour and at the end the finale screen show with live mine lighting and noise demos. It was very realistic. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. One thing to note is that the actual mine tour is not for anyone with mobility issues. Also you need to really plug your ears for live demos. So not suitable for smaller children. If you want to video some of the demos, I suggest bringing good ear plugs so you can hold your phone. Also, if the online sites shows full, just go to the ticket booth and see if they still have room. Online booking closes about 12 hours or so before the tour, so last minute tickets could be available.

An interesting, educational, and vivid tour. The tour guide is informative and explains the history of the copper mine, the tools used to extract the minerals as well as how to extract copper from the mineral rocks.

Called in on journey Vancouver to whistler. Interesting and informative museum about the history of the area, the early isolation of the mining communities and their way of life. Trip of about 20 minutes into the mine area with enthusiastic guide helps understanding of the conditions the would have worked in. Boom show of about 29 minutes allows for further reflection . Well worth a couple of hours of your time.

This museum offers an experience not to be missed: a train tour of the mine, demonstrations of the work of highly immersive miners and several pavilions to visit to understand the life of this community up to the 1970s. Don't go your way!

Very interesting, exciting, fun and thrilling and an absolute 100% "MUST-DO" if your headed up on the Sea to Sky hwy towards Whistler or Squamish or even if your in the Vancouver area which is 30 minutes away. My wife and daughter were a bit "so-so" about visiting "a mine" but they came out saying it far exceeded anything they ever expected and were thanking me for bring them there. The train ride into the mine was fantastic and we really enjoyed the information on mining techniques and demonstration of equipment inside the mine shafts. The museum and artifact buildings are very well stocked and displays informative and easy to read but the best is the Main Processing Mill Building and the "BOOM" show which was super-duper good! I won't say more about it to avoid spoiling things but trust me you'll be thrilled! About the only thing you could possibly do to improve things is add live Dynamite demonstrations :)

On every trip we are looking for an industrial visit and Britannia Mine Museum qualified and yielded in ways we never expected. Not only was there a detailed account of the industrial processes associated with the mine, but there as also an indoor sound & light show, a train ride, a museum and a (fool's) gold quest using water and trays, and a lot of sand. The only minus was that our guide made no reference whatsoever to the First Nation on whose unceded land the mine was built. That was quite shameful considering that nearly all places we visited in British Columbia and Alberta welcomed visitors paying respect to First Nations.
