Palace of Parliament

Visit the second largest building in the world, built by the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, The Palace of the Parliament. The construction of Bucharest's icon was, mainly, made with Romanian materials, such as marble, wood, and stone, enhancing the wealth of the country, which, combined, made the monument the heaviest building in the world. Nowadays the palace is an administrative building, housing Romania's Chamber of Deputies, also large conference halls, and salons used for distinct purposes such as events. Take the chance to visit The People's House interior and discover its beautifully preserved architecture, the massive chandeliers, mirrors, and impressive furniture.

The Romanian Orthodox Patriarchal Cathedral dates back from the 17th century and it is situated on a small hill, named the Mitropoly Hill, in the heart of Bucharest, very close to Unirii Square (Piata Unirii). Besides being a national symbol of the Orthodox faith, the Patriarchal Church has also a big historical importance. On the Mitropoly Hill, major historical events had place, as, for example, The Unification of the Romanian Principalities of Wallachia and Moldova, voted on 24th of January 1859, by the Elective Assembly and the proclamation of the Independence of the country, in 1878 and of the Kingdom, three years later.

Muzeul National al Satului "Dimitrie Gusti"

Located in the heart of Herastrau Park, overlooking its lovely lake, The National Village Museum it’s the third open air museum from Europe in chronological order. The museum is dedicated, mainly, to traditional houses from different regions from Romania. The unique architecture of each building is preserved in the original way. Take a walk among the enchanting exhibition of traditional houses, crafts, folk costumes, and get to know the way of living of the peasants from the specific period.

Known as the residence of the Romanian dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu, The Primaverii Palace was built in the 1960. The interior of the building has wooden ornaments made with both local wood as well as exotic, and also an outstanding collection of painting, mosaics and handmade tapestries. The palace is well-known for the luxurious decor and excessive use of gold.

The Romanian Atenaeum, known as ''The Heart of Romania's Culture'' was built with the founds from a public subscription, fact that shows the interest of the people in the construction of the monument. The architecture of the building is outstanding, enhanced by the outstanding frescoe that describes a historical moment. The palace hosted several conferences of Romanian scientists, and concerts of famous artists from all over the world.

Old Town

The Old Town is included in the list of historic monuments from Bucharest, and it helds several historical buildings with a high importance. Most of the Old Town has its original aspect, and awaits to be restored. The popularity of the place is due to the location of several restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs that are known especially for the vivid night life.

The oldest street from Bucharest, The Victory Avenue is the most charming street of the city. Back to the times when Bucharest gained the reputation of ''The Little Paris of the East'', the Victoy Avenue was compared with Champs Elysees. The name of the avenue is described after Romania's victory in the War of Independence.
