During the tour you are going to see a huge variety of sights in a relatively small part of Pest. The Jewish Quarter of the seventh district is quite compact, that's why walking is the best way of exploring it. Whichever direction we choose to start our walk in the quarter, we are going to see a lot from the second largest non-Orthodox synagogue in the world to the smallest prayer houses, attractive residential buildings and memorial places of the area: astonishing, all with their own stories. Some of the gems of our itinerary you might already be familiar with but by taking part in the tour you will have the chance to build a new perspective towards them: the synagogues of the so-called synagogue triangle of Budapest such as the Kazinczy, the Rumbach and the Dohány Street Synagogue, the Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Garden with the touching Emmanuel tree, the Budapest Jewish Museum and the exhibitions of the Jewish Archives, The Vasvári Street Synagogue, the Carl Lutz Memorial, the stumbling stones of the quarter’s streets, the last remaining part of the WWII ghetto wall or the iconic Shoes Monument on the riverbank of the Danube. I will also bring you to places mostly visited and used by the locals. You can peep into their everyday lives: courtyards just like the Gozsdu Courtyard, little shops, eateries, confectioneries, the mikveh in Kazinczy Street, art galleries, festival scenes, old and newly opened cafés, the unique ruin bars including the iconic Szimpla will all make you get closer to an insider's look. Just let yourself emerge in the atmosphere! Our itinerary can be highly flexible. If you have deeper interest in something and want to spent more time in a place or you would skip another, no problem. The aim is to give you a good overall picture with lots of stories rather than facts: Always trying to organise the tour as informative, integrating and fun as it is possible. Book a tour to enjoy, explore, learn and get the most out of your stay in Budapest in the company of a professional guide!

We spent two full mornings with Timea. One was the Jewish Walking Tour and the second was a Budapest walking tour. Both were excellent. Timea is a wealth of knowledge about the city, its history and the Jewish experience. She was a fabulous guide and a lovely person. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Timea was our tour guide . She was a great guide and an excellent communicator. Once I made initial contact early in 2015,we stayed in contact until our tour. She was waiting for us as we left the ship. She was very educated on the Jewish history not only in Budapest, but knowledge of the world in general. I would highly recommended timea as a tour guide. She listened to what we had to say and discussed what our opinions were. She is a great conversationalist . She is one of the best tour guides we have had on our worldly travels. If you want to get a good understanding of Jewish life in Budapest make timea your tour guide

My husband and I took the private Jewish quarters tour with Timea. She is a wealth of information, even sending us links to books, movies, and extensive information for further research when we finished our tour. In addition to learning about the history of the Jews in Budapest, we gained an added dimension from hearing about the personal experiences of Timea's family. If you are interested in Jewish history, I highly recommend this tour.

We experienced as a family an unforgettable tour. The great knowledge, the human warmth, the right to meet the Jewish community of Budapest and see the world through her eyes was a very powerful experience and I highly recommend it.

My wife and I took Timea’s Jewish Experience Tour while in Budapest in October 2025. Her experience and knowledge was truly incredible. She combined knowledge of Hungarian history, art, science, and of course Jewish Hungarian history. Her expert knowledge of every aspect of the two major synagogues that we spent time in was incomparable. As she is native to Hungry, the Holocaust directly affected her family and this comes through during the tour. There was not a single question we asked that she could not answer. Additionally, she made the tour interesting and fun, as we could see what a nice person she is. Highly recommended!

Great walking tour with Kristina as the guide. Visited the 3 synagogues with very interesting commentary throughout. Kristina was excellent, mixing the emotional element of the tour with a great sense of humour. Finished up in the ruins bar, Szimpla. Around 2hours in all and highly recommended

Our tour was outstanding. We took the tour based on the recommendation of family members who had enjoyed the experience. Like them, we’re so pleased. We walked all over the city taking in its rich Jewish heritage and famous sites. From viewing the Opera House to the Dohány Street Synagogue, the Jewish Ghetto to the exterior of Parliament, we were treated to an informative and moving tour. Help and instruction on navigating the subways and rail cars along the way assisted us when moving about on our own. We highly recommend taking this tour.

Timea was outstanding. She enthusiastically highlighted numerous points of interest, and by sharing her own family’s historical experiences, she provided us with a powerful and insightful glimpse into what the Jewish community endured over the past centuries.

The time we spent with Timea was amazing! We did three tours with her, starting with an all day classic tour of city highlights, both Buda and Pest. Then we did a half day in the Jewish Quarter (so moving) and finally a tour of the lovely Danube Bend villages. We learned so much and had the most memorable times. Timea is so knowledgeable and shares many stories. She is kind, patient and so helpful. We booked her several months in advance, and she was incredibly responsive to multiple questions as we mapped out our tour plans. By the time we met in person, I felt I already knew her. And when we parted, we were sad to leave a friend. We highly recommend engaging Timea to see the best of Budapest. We can't thank her enough for our wonderful experience!
