  Admittedly, I was a bit nervous signing our family up for a river cruise after seeing reviews for another company, in which travelers reported the boats being overcrowded. I was very relieved to see this one capped the amount of travelers per ride, so I went ahead and booked. And I’m glad I did! The night view of the city from the river is truly exceptional. All the staff were very courteous and professional. I highly recommend! The cruise company, Duna, has two cruises that dock at the same spot: one is a more modern boat (the “elegant” option which we did) and the other is a historic paddle wheel (the “historic” option). Be sure to research and choose your preference!

  The weather was cold and damp so it was nice to be able to wait in covered area until boarding time and the waiting area was very nice with sheep skin rugs. The boat was lovely and the operator had made it all festive and welcoming. Felt intimate and cosy and it was nice and warm on the boat. Our welcome drinks were nice but we ordered extra at the reasonably priced onboard bar. We have done other boat cruises in Budapest and none were this good. We would definitely recommend this river cruise.

  Boat just the right size, not too big. Choice of sitting inside or out. Comfy cushioned seating. Boat nicely decorated with Christmas garlands. Polite staff. Very clear audio guide you stream to your phone via QR code. Can order drinks which are brought to you. Trip 1 hour long and you see all the sights beautifully.

  I bought 4 tickets from Viator, two adults and two children, basically I paid 2 tickets for adults and 2 free for children. But before boarding, when they checked the tickets, they told me that they didn't fit because 4 tickets had to be paid for and to check on the website exactly what I bought. I entered the website and it was indeed like that, Adult from 3 years to 99 and children 0-2 years. Honestly, I have never seen adults at 3-4 years old, but that was their rule. The point is that he misled me, because outside the age limit it said max 15, I thought it was referring to the age of the children, so be careful when you make the reservation not to be put in the unpleasant position in which I was put. After the interaction with the people at boarding, I didn't feel like walking anymore. It was not a pleasant experience.

  Perfect Evening Introduction to the City We couldn’t have chosen a better way to kick off our time in Budapest than with the Historic Danube River Cruise. We took the 8:30 PM cruise from Dock 10, which came with a welcome drink and lasted about an hour — just the right amount of time to take in the city lights. The timing was perfect. The cruise was a smooth loop along both sides of the Danube, showcasing all of Budapest’s most famous landmarks. From the grand Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion to the illuminated Chain Bridge and Gellért Hill, every view felt like a postcard. The real showstopper, though, was the Parliament building. Seeing it lit up at night was absolutely breathtaking — truly one of those “wow” travel moments you don’t forget. Comfort & Experience Tips The outside seating is where you want to be for the best views and photos, but it is easy to stay comfortable. Blankets were provided at every chair, and the indoor area offered plenty of cozy seating if you preferred to warm up. For the audio portion, bring your own headphones and make sure your phone is charged so you can follow along with the commentary while snapping photos. Final Impression This historic cruise is a must-do for first-time visitors.   Welcoming staff. Nice size boat. A drink of your choice is provided on arrival. The toilet was clean. Plaids are at our disposal and we needed them because the weather was cloudy and a little cool. Thanks to these plaids, we really enjoyed the discovery of Budapest from the upper deck. One hour cruise that is enough to see all the beautiful monuments of Budapest. The number of tourists on the boat was sufficient and we could enjoy the ride. I'm glad I chose this company.

  Our trip was said to include an Audio Guide (English) but there was no guide or commentary whatsoever in any language. Disappointing that none of the buildings were named and no history given.
