A guided tour to the most monumental religious building of the Hungarian capital. You will see numerous statues and frescos, and the oldest human hand of the world: the mummified right hand of the first Hungarian king Saint Stephen (from 1038).

Booking for bigger groups: If your group has more than 10 people, please book the tour for a smaller group, and contact us for an agreement on the rest. Guided Tour: Live guiding inside the church, on the panoramic dome terrace and in the treasury. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Church, dome terrace, treasury: There are elevators to the dome and tresaury. However there are also some steps, about 20 to the dome and 50 to the treasury. Maximum group size: No maximum group size for a private tour. For larger groups (>10 people) we will offer you 2 guides.

Guided Tour: This option includes a guided tour inside the church. Duration: 45 minutes Only Church - without tower: This option doesn't include the dome terrace and tower treasury. Choose the other option, if you also wish to visit them. Limited mobility: You will agree to skip the dome terrace and tower treasury, eg. if you cannot climb steep stairs to the top of the Basilica.

Guided Tour: This option includes a guided tour inside the church, and a ticket to the panoramic terrace and treasury. Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes: The guided tour takes about 45 minutes. Exploring the dome terrace and treasury can take about 30 minutes more. Church, dome terrace, treasury: The guided tour is only inside the church. Extra ticket: After the guided tour your guide will give you tickets to the dome terrace and treasury, and you can visit these on your own.

Julia is an excellent guide with many insights. The problem is that the place is not accessible for people having difficulty in climbing stairs

The church is amazingly beautiful. The tour was very informative. The only downside was that at times it was difficult to understand or hear her. Headset would have been a plus.
Sunday tours conflict with services

We booked 4 timed entry tickets online through Viator for Sunday at 9:00 AM and received confirmation. When we arrived the church was closed for liturgical services until 1:00 PM so we couldn’t enter. We had other plans in the afternoon so could not return at 1:00 PM It was a struggle over several days to get a refund. Viator blamed the church ticketing office and St Stephan’s blamed Viator. Not fun.

Nice view of the city from the terrace. Pleasant interior but no effect wahou... Treasure bof. For me this visit was not essential given the price of admission.

Friendly and informative. Wonderful tour of the Basilica but also very informative about the history of Budapest its inhabitants and Hungary in general. Katalin also knew loads about the British Film Industry!

We very much enjoyed our tour with Petra. She was so knowledgeable, entertaining, passionate about the history of her country and the basilica! She included lots of os historical stories that made our tour fun. Highly recommended
Finding our guide was half the adventure—but once we did, the Basilica tour was worth it.

Meeting up with the tour guide was a challenge as the meeting place assigned was in front of ticket office that sold tickets for the same event. The guide did not have on any attire indicating she was a guide or nothing on her sign she pulled out of her bag that said Basilica tour. It was raining and we stood in line attempting to locate the person. Once inside the Basilica she was knowledgeable. We have been on better organized tours with Viator and that's why we continue to use them, not all can be winners.

A must do tour. The inside of the Basalica is amazing. Our guide Alexandria was very knowledgeable and spike fluent English.
