You need to take your swim suit and flip flops, better time in the morning or after 4pm less people.

This place is huge and so many pools to choose from. Plan to spend at least 3 hours, more if you can so you can try more pools.

Szechenyi Thermal baths, Budapest was easy to navigate and worth the visit. Online Viator tickets w cabin were purchased. You find the online ticket counter, wear your color coded wristband that locks and unlocks changing cabin. You can save # and share, but fits 1 person at a time. The baths were very clean and comfortable. Inside had eucalyptus sauna, salt inhation, rooms, hot and cold plunges, and steam baths, it’s worth walking around to find and use them all.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as some of the reviews are pretty critical. We really loved it. The buildings are gorgeous. The water is warm, and there are plenty of chairs if you arrive early.

Take a towel as you can't hire one at the baths. You can buy one at the extortionate price of 33 euros! Other than that it's a great experience, two big outdoor lounging pools and a lane swimming pool. You only need a swim cap for the lane swimming pool. There are indoor pools too and a steam room and there's a cafe on site. Best to go in the morning as it gets very busy later on.

Very disappointing experience at Széchenyi Thermal Bath. We visited as a birthday treat after seeing the impressive website and reviews, but the reality was completely different. The outdoor thermal pool was extremely overcrowded to the point it was difficult to move or relax. The same applied to the sauna facilities, especially as one sauna was out of order, making the remaining one unusable due to the number of people. Several facilities were unavailable due to maintenance, including the outdoor adventure pool, which significantly reduced what was actually on offer. The indoor pool area had a strong urine-like smell, and the water left an unpleasant residue on the skin. I understand thermal water has natural properties, but this went far beyond that. The most concerning issue was cleanliness. We paid extra for a private changing cabin, only to find a used tissue and a used tampon left inside. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious hygiene concerns. After around an hour, we decided to leave as the experience was not enjoyable or up to standard. We raised this with the spa directly, but they refused any refund. Overall, this felt like an overcrowded, poorly maintained facility that does not match the expectations set by its reputation or advertising. I would not return or recommend.

A bit run down, staff not very friendly, many facilities not available yet still gave to pay full price, very little difference between pool temperatures. Lucazs baths was a far better and cheaper experience
