  Originally booked the safari tour, but was notified a few days beforehand that it was canceled due to a " introduction to the giraffe herd". We got a refund for the tour but not the general admission ticket. When we got there, half the park was inaccessible. Tried to use their interactive map in their app but was confused most of the time because so many of the paths were closed. The app kept telling us to go down paths that weren't there. I was especially frustrated because as we walked around we saw a truck of visitors out feeding the giraffes. I know that was technically a different "experience" than what we booked, but weren't the giraffes the reason our tour was canceled? I was also hoping to see the bird garden but that seemed to be in the closed part of the park, as well as the area with the Tigers. Since I went mainly to see the animals, not to ride the rides, this was a big disappointment. I would say if you are a Rollercoaster person and would like to see a few cool animals, it would still be fun to go here. If you are just going to see the animals, it is definitely not worth the $200 in general admission (and that was after a holiday sale price!). I should have listened to the other reviewers who said it was not worth the price.

  I visited Busch Gardens today and left genuinely disappointed. The park is in a noticeably diminished state right now, and what makes it worse is the lack of transparency before you arrive. A large number of rides and animal exhibits are closed, many for refurbishment or long‑term maintenance, yet the official app doesn’t reflect this. It only shows what’s currently operating, not what’s unavailable. That means you can’t make an informed decision before buying tickets — you only discover the closures once you’re already inside. Entire areas feel half‑shut, with construction walls, empty pathways, and attractions simply not running. The situation is made worse by the lack of available dining, especially for anyone who purchased the All‑Day Dining plan. Several food locations were closed, leaving only a handful of options open. This created long queues for sub‑standard food, and the limited choice made the dining plan feel like poor value. When you’re paying extra for the convenience of eating throughout the day, you shouldn’t have to hunt for an open restaurant or wait in slow-moving lines for mediocre meals. Adding to the frustration, the park now charges $5 for the Skyride, an attraction that used to be included. In a period where the park is offering significantly less than usual, you’d expect a gesture of goodwill — not another upcharge. It feels tone‑deaf and out of step with the current guest experience. Overall, Busch Gardens is clearly in a transition year, but instead of being upfront about it, they’re presenting a full‑strength product while delivering a reduced one. Between the closures, the dining limitations, and the extra charges, it’s hard to recommend a visit at the current price until the park is back to full capacity.

  We were not impressed. We spent $100 per ticket, which included one meal. There were fees and tax on top of that. Parking was $37. Lunches was free, but two waters and one soda totaled $23. There were NO shows available. We saw a satisfactory amount of animals close up, then took the only train that was working. We could only see the giraffes and other animals from a distance. The park was not crowded at all. We figured it was due to the price. We won’t be returning.

• Overpriced and everything was closed

  This was supposed to be a fun experience for my eight year old daughter, but once we got there it was an experience to forget. From the overpriced parking, $37. To at least 85% of the park being closed for “weather issues” (lower 50’s). Most of the animals were not available either. Several of the rides we wanted to go on were also closed. All the food kiosks were closed. We ate at a place called the Dragon Fire which had several different stands and we ordered Oriental food which was undercooked and the rice was hard. Even though we bought a meal deal we still ended up paying almost $40 for three pops and a cheesecake. At another stand we ordered a coffee and although there was no waiting line it took us 10-15 minutes to get our coffee. And to finish up our food nightmare we bought pretzels that were cold and hard. Overall the whole experience was disappointing. They should let people know if the park has limited access/activity and if that’s the case they should give people at least a partial refund. All told for park tickets, meal and safari I spent over $560. Oh and about that expensive safari I paid for, you get almost the same experience riding their train that you get on the safari, except with the safari your on a truck and closer to the animals.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Worst experience possible

  We came in January 2026 and absolutely ALL the attractions were closed, no shows occurring and most of the animal exhibitions were in maintenance or closed, and we only found out that after entering the park and paying parking. They promised that the Russian mountains would open when the temperatures were above 40°F, but it passed 44°F and yet nothing opened. We had the "all dining deal" meal plan but only two restaurants were running throughout the park! Not enough humiliation, the park closed 3 hours earlier than planned. When we questioned the customer relations guides, they said they couldn't do anything about it. A total disappointment with the visitors! Although the Russian mountains seem great (I don't know why I didn't walk any), it's not worth all stress and disrespect. Unfortunately, the "Disney way of enchanting customers" does not apply to all parks in the region!

  They don't have the money to staff everything and are shutting down rides. My visit was on a beautiful day and ride shutdown was not affected by weather. My granddaughter and I drove 2.5 hours on January 31, 2026. There was not one ride she could go on. They were all closed. There was a rollercoaster but she was afraid of going. There was a little children's airplane ride and a ferry go round but, she is 16. What a waste of time and money. If all rides are closed then CLOSE THE DAMN PARK! I have asked for a refund and if they don't I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

  I wish the app would allow better navigation, you cant filter rides by sides for the little ones like 45 inches and under and see al.the rides and navigate to it... just not a smooth app transition. other then that everything was great ... food was great, the new wild oasis is top tier.... loved it ♡ ty

• Very Disappointing

  We are 69 and remember having great experiences in Bush Garden Tampa in the past, so we planned a little trip to Tampa and Bush Garden. Since we don't do Rollercoasters anymore at our age and my wife has problems walking we picked a day when they have LYNYRD SKYNYRD at the Stanleyville Theater, looked forward to the Rhythm of Nature Ice show at the Moroccan Palace Theater, the Sky ride and the Mardi Grass festival. After looking at there schedule we decided on Friday January 30th where all of this is happening. Since we bought the Silver Annual Pass last February and only went one time we wanted to go at least one more time before the pass expires. By the time we booked a place to stay the Mardi Grass disappeared from there schedule for that day, but that’s OK, since there is still other things to do. So when we arrived, and luckily we didn’t have to pay the $55 for preferred Parking and found a good spot in the Handicapped section and went straight to the ECV Rental to rent 2 scooters for $207 after the Silver Pass Discount and drove the Sky ride for a round trip over the park, so far so good. When we returned we wanted to make our way to the Stanleyville Theater on the opposite end of the park to see the concert at 11:30, but the battery of my scooter was already in the red while my wife’s was still solid green, when calling the rental place I was told to bring it back to exchange it, which means we can’t make the 11”30 concert but still OK since they have one at 1:30 according to there schedule that I saved about a month earlier. The young man at the rental place did not know what to do in a situation like this and had to make phone calls for instructions, after about 30 minutes I got another scooter that was charged but only half the speed of my wife’s scooter we are now at about 12 pm on the way again driving past several animal displays that are closed and had no animals to see, so we wanted to take the train ride but since the next concert is at 1:30 we have to do that later. So we wanted to eat a funnel cake across from the train station, but that was closed as well with a sign telling us to get a funnel cake at the Coaster Coffe Company which I back at the entrance near the scooter rental again, ok so we drive back past the Elephants for the 2nd time, just to find out that these untrained teenage employees have no clue and no funnel cake but told us that Seikra Eats has Funnel cake which is again on the opposite end of the park. Since we are smokers and wanted a cigarette I used there app to guide us to the smoking sections, needless to say where ever the app shows a smoking section there is none and the teenagers that work there have no clue. So we drive past the Elephants for the third time and when we finally arrived at the Stanleyville Theater there is a sign ;No Shows Today’ Really?! It didn’t even say cancelled like some other concerts, but was just not mentioned at all! So lets at least do the train ride now, but no such luck since by now and it was 2PM the train doesn’t run any more either for today. Well at least here is still the 4pm Ice Show which is again at the opposite end of the park and passed the Elephants for the 4th time. The 6PM was not displayed any longer with no explanation since the Park now closes at 6 Pm instead of 8PM at originally shown on there schedules. We made it on time and the show was really good, although the whole theater looks run down and very aged, but that’s ok we are just ther for a short time. So end of story, Park closed 2 hours earlier as scheduled, nothing on there schedule remains as advertised on line there app is not updated to guide you to the proper locations, half the animals are not there, half the rides are closed which is bad for people who came here for the roller coasters, no Mardi Grass, and most of the teenage employees have no clue about anything, the overall look is run down and very aged, and the management of this place is obviously totally incompetent to run it,m the food is totally outrages overpriced and terrible, but if you are hung you just have to pay $50 for a small card board box with rice and chicken, and if you are rich enough you could even get a fountain drink coke for $6.50 but luckily we brought out own water 😊 In short a totally run down rip off, what a shame for a park that was once upon a time VERY NICE!I I can’t see how this place would still be in business a year from now, so if you really have to go there to get ripped off with everything they sell from food to souvenirs and disappointed by half the rides any animal displays, do it right now before they are gone forever, because we and millions of others will never go there again!

  Don’t waste your money. I bought the platinum pass in February of 2025. It included several free passes a year and discounts so we decided to get it so we could treat family and friends to going . Short of it and long of it to follow . For those that want brief (most of us I feel do ) …. . I have been patronizing this place since I was a kid in the 70-80’s. I want to love it. But I don’t even like it anymore. It was a waste of a day (s) and TIME I can’t get back. I went 5 times in 11 months. Many , many , ride closures 4 of 5 times. Park is run down , under staffed , $15 domestic beers , $60 preferred parking at the gate , two thumbs down to hospitality house. Only needed the fast pass 2 of 5 times. It was so quiet there , we didn’t need to buy them. Don’t purchase in advance, wait to get there and see what it’s like. For anyone that wants to know specifically my displeasure , like maybe someone assigned to marketing or online feedback or tracking trip advisor reviews . Or someone that doesn’t mind reading an honest review with more details , this might save you from spending a lot of money and disappointment. We visited in February 2025 with my family and when I purchased the platinum pass. The park was busy and a lot of rides and activities to be had. Fast passes were necessary. But , I did notice the park shows its age and needs some updating . The rides are getting updated but the appearance of the Park overall needs work. The place just looks very run down meaning the buildings and restaurants and the bathrooms. Just overall is showing its age compared to all the other theme parks. Please pressure wash the walkway into the theatre . It looks like we were going into a haunted house and it wasn’t Halloween. I only went to one but I can tell by the overall appearance they don’t keep up with it. You know what is updated though ? The cost of alcohol . I could swear the beers were $12 which is bad enough and come the end of December they were $15. But maybe they were always $15. I got a Titos and cranberry and it was $24 before tip. My pass includes free parking but I did notice it was $50 for premium parking in June but $60 in January. But they don’t update the ride closures on the app . I believe on purpose . They know that 1/2 of what they have to offer is closed and people might not come if they see it . Not once did the app indicate cheetah hunt was closed . I am 52 and have been coming since I was a kid. I want to love this place like I once did . I was here January 14th 2026 with friends, December 31 , 2025 and December 5th , June , and February. Every time we went it was worse , this last visit in January there were so many closures. Cheetah hunt ( was closed the last 3 visits over the course of 8 weeks ) , sheiKra , falcons fury ( last two times ) Kumba & Congo River rapids ( closed every visit but 1 ) , Cobras curse was open about 1/2 the time . Overall , I feel like they are maybe understaffed and can’t open everything some days until later in the day. There are few places open for snacks and drinks outside of the bigger restaurants . The hospitality house twice we got there after 11 am and they still hadn’t unlocked the doors. We waited for 10-15 min watching the staff stocking the bar and cleaning but not acknowledging us. I don’t normally care so much about having adult beverages but it ended up being something to do. It was challenging to find enough things to do and enjoy an entire day there . So we stopped at the safari lookout a couple times and just sat there and talked overlooking the Serengeti section that didn’t have wooden remodeling obstructions. The train was the highlight of our experiences and not in a good way , but comical . The Christmas train stopped working and we were stuck on it mid ride for a while and the rain was blowing sideways and quite chilly in December . The music was so loud we couldn’t hear ourself think and we were stuck so long we got to hear it again for another loop . The giraffes started to run away when the train came around, I believe the loud music was too much for them too. Good news though, they still have Sea World and it seemed to be in good working order . It too is dated in some areas but overall it has a lot of good rides and shows and more enjoyable in my opinion. And almost everything was open both times we went.

  AMAZING! many reviewers were 'meh'. We took an ENTIRE DAY and still didnt see it all! We only did animals, no rides. Paid for a safari ride (black Friday special), all in dining. Did a few of the animal presentations (free). The walk thru exhibits were spectacular! Kangaroo and birds came right up to me. Modeled like the irwins in Australia, designed to educate, i felt the animals were well cared for, allowed to be as wild as possible in captivity. Fed giraffes. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Dining package was convenient but...food options were not healthy. Burgers, BBQ, chicken strips. Salads not included.
