One of the best way to see this offbeat and colorful city is in the sky! Join us at 2pm for an adventure that will show you the real La Paz exploring the amazing cable cars, the fascinating cemetery district, local shamans and the pulsating city of El Alto with an amazing guide.
This is one of the most stunning city tours in the world! Not only do you get to take in the magnificent views of La Paz and the surrounding mountains, but you also explore some of the beaten path spots in the city!
Take local transport up to the cemetery where we explore the open air street art museum and learn about the fascinating culture and traditions that can only be found here, then up to El Alto in the world’s most scenic form of transport, the teleferico (cable car). In El Alto we visit a local shaman and have the opportunity to get our fortunes read (if time allows) before exploring the city further and then taking the teleferico back to the city center. Get a chance to see the real La Paz!

4.00Denise was an excellent guide with detailed knowledge of the area and excellent English. The cemetery and visit to El Alto was really interesting, however there was no opportunity for coca leaf reading as per the itinerary. It may be available if a small group of two, but obviously not going to work with any group larger than that.

2.00After going on the Red Cap city walking tour, which was really good. I decided to go on the extended tour with the Cable Car included. Sadly it seemed a waste of time, it ended up involving going up on the Cable Car to El Alto, walk around for a little bit, get your fortune read (if you wanted to) and come back down again. I think it was unusual, but 10 people out of the 12 wanted their fortunes told and no-one could speak Spanish, so Matt (who was very good as tour guide) had to translate and every reading took about 20 minutes. So it was a long wait. The views over La Paz were nice, but definitely wasn't worth the 20 US Dollars of mainly sitting around, I did get a slight refund, as normally a visit to the Cemetery would be included, but due to the protests and road closures, the cemetery closed early.

5.00We did the Extended La Paz Adventure and Cable Car City Tour with Denise. It was really fun taking the local bus and cable car, and interesting learning about the history of the cities. Denise was really knowledgeable and friendly!

5.00Nice tour of la paz, guide was flexible despite some dramas on the city so the tour was adjusted not to visit the cemetery, which in all honesty was potentially not worth it - I guess unless it's the day of the dead celebration.
